Video: Elzhi – Memory Lane

In this video, Elzhi takes his audience back in time to the Mid-90′s, and into Maurice Malone’s Hip-Hop Shop. The Shop was the heart of the Detroit hip hop scene where many collaborated, battled and shared music. It was there that a young Elzhi first grabbed the microphone to prove that he had the ability to become one of the greatest rappers alive.

Music executive and artist manager Jae Barber, also a Detroit native, provided an authentic picture of the world Elzhi revisits in his nostalgic spin on Nas’ classic song, “Memory Lane.” The video includes rare visuals of various artists such as Eminem and Royce da 5’9. Amongst the many artists included are the late Baatin, Proof and J Dilla.

    Seven Things A Twentysomething Can’t Do

    thoughtcatalog.com/2011/seven-things-a-twentysomething-cannot-do/

    1. Mail something

    Whenever I have to mail something, I have a mini panic attack. First, I have to get stamps, which seems super daunting because I have no idea where they’re sold. Can I get one at my vegan co-op later or maybe the guy I’m sleeping with from Ok Cupid has some at his apartment. IDK! Then there is the terrifying dilemma of acquiring an envelope. Once you manage to get these two things, you have to somehow put them together and handwrite things. Lastly, you have to search for something called a mailbox. I’ve heard about mailboxes in movies but I’ve yet to see one in real life. Honestly, flying Virgin to give someone something seems more feasible these days. Like I’ve heard of the band The Postal Service but I didn’t know that it was based on a real thing, okay?

    Even in defeat, Tim Tebow continues to be a polarizing figure. A popular skit on the latest edition of Saturday Night Live which focused on the Denver Broncos quarterback’s obsession with religion has drawn a heated response from America’s leading televangelist.

    Pat Robertson claimed the SNL skit was “anti-Christrian bigotry that’s just disgusting.” Robertson, 81, told viewers on the Christian Broadcasting Network’s 700 Club that had the skit been about another religion, things would have been much different.

    “If this had been a Muslim country and they had done that, and had Muhammad doing that stuff, you would have found bombs being thrown off, and bodies on the street,” Robertson said, according to Mediaite. “We need more religious faith in our society, we’re losing our moral compass in our nation.”
    =======================

    Fuck that wrinkly racist cracker, that skit was hilarious. And for the record, both South Park and Family Guy have taken shots at the Islamic faith.

    ———————

    You’re still missing the Point

    Pat Robertson’s point still stands

    Comedy Central did not allow it because they were afraid of repercussions

    SNL was not afraid of repercussions

    There is an obvious bias

    I can’t even see how this can even be argued

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^

    Its a bias but it’s a smart bias lol. Look at the repurcussions, depict Jesus and a old ass kizza starts bitching. Depict Muhammed and them niggas might just suicide bomb… like literally. Muslims aint even allowed to create pictures of Muhammed’s image so I can only imagine what they do to infidels.

    Didn’t homie in Sweden cause all types of attacks of some shit?

  44. sarjo1988 Says:

    family guy and the simpsons stay shootin at eachother because simpsons think family guy swagga jacked them

    but i didnt know southpark be shottin at both of them on some ether shit lol

    ==============================

    ^But there is a difference in the tone/nature of the skits. South Park was taking direct shots at the Prophet Muhammad. The “prophet”(in this case, Jesus) wasn’t being made fun of, it was the Christian faith and Tim Tebow. Once again, plenty of other shows have taken pot shots at the Islamic faith. If you’re referring to the depiction of Muhammad vs that of Jesus, then yes, there is a clear bias here, but to cry foul as if only the Christian faith falls victim to cheap shots is bullshit.
