    ^^^

I saw the game & while he’s a talent, I don’t see any signs that he can run the offense, which is what a PG does.

And he’s not gonna dominate any of the top SG’s in the A so that 16 pts is fools gold.

If he can score a couple baskets & play good defense, he’ll be okay but the Knicks don’t need a scoring guard as much as they need someone to facilitate the O.

Agreed, any player in the league can score if they shoot the ball enough plus the exhibition games don’t mean anything. Although saying that I didn’t see the game so maybe he is a future star..

  24. Jackson7 Says:

They gonna run the offense through Melo, once Douglas or Bibby or Shumpert get it over halfcourt anyway…ask DAntoni..

    ^

In an exhibition game yes any player in the league can score, don’t forget even the scrubs of the NBA are still talented enough to make shots.

Although I agree with LeBron being a choker (nh) in the clutch

  29. AmpGeez a.k.a. Amphernee Hardaway Says:

They gonna run the offense through Melo, once Douglas or Bibby or Shumpert get it over halfcourt anyway…ask DAntoni..
    ^^^

That’s the plan for right now & there were a couple of sequences this afternoon that looked like that’s a workable strategy but for how long? D’Antoni is accustomed to having a guard run the O. That’s why there’s talk of Baron Davis still coming ot the team even with Bibby & Douglas already in place. If Shumpert was ready, there wouldn’t be any lingering PG talk.

Right now he’s a 6th man at best. Let the kid develop & maybe play an actual NBA game before we anoint him.

J/k bro, but you have one hell of a point. O don’t think this is the culture that Marrtin, Malcolm, W.E.B., Booker T, Lamumba, etc, had when they envisioned the freedom and future of our culture. Or what JKF, Teddy, George Washington, Adams, Calhoun had in common when they envisioned a free America.

It’s a very weird place when immigrant know more about our history than us. And all we offer them in return. Is “swag”.

What power? What has OWS changed?

The news covers it cause they love sensationalism & the longer it goes on, the better chance that something tragic will eventually occur.

I’m not even sure what the goal of OWS is. What are they trying to accomplish? Somebody fill me in.

  136. Bricktop Says:

But lack of organization & a clear agenda…
    ^
ahh….. but this is their strength. it’s impossible to defeat an opponent socio-politically with “seemingly” no clear agenda. add to that the fact that historically large revolutionary movements rarely begin with clear-cut goals. that’s something that evolves over time.

  137. Bricktop Says:

What power? What has OWS changed?
    ^
the way struggling civilians across the nation view our government, with regards to it’s handling of the economy. OWS has raised awareness on a broad scale nationwide that, otherwise, would never have occurred. and please believe that the banks who control the $ that control the politicians that control your mass communications outlets NEVER wanted to cover OWS in the first place. that’s why it took the major organizations over a month to even acknowledge it.

  138. tHe KiD fRanKiE Says:

But lack of organization & a clear agenda have made most dismiss that movement as a bunch of slackers, stoners & dirty hippies who were playing Camp Out cause they don’t want to get real jobs

^this was my exact perception of that “movement”
I would see these dirty filthy lookin kizzas x niggas posted up in Bmore
Flooding the downtown streets looking type transient
    It accomplished nothin

They’ve been there long enough to have some sorts mission statement. I can’t rally around that movement cause it’s just some anarchist shit & without some kinda infrastructure, it’s not gonna prompt any kind of reform or change.

you can’t fight today’s wars with yesterday’s weapons and expect to win. in other words, the protest/demonstration techniques of yesteryear won’t cut it today IF actual change is your goal. hell, those old school protests are damn near outlawed these days. so if OWS seems a little nontraditional, then…yeah.

  142. Harlem World Says:

Would be good if govt would reduce taxes for small businesses & increase taxes on big multi’s.

Cut some of that military budget too, chasing round anonymous men in turbans.

Student loans are crippling a lot of people right now too.

    Opinion tho..

^It took the founding fathers years to figure out they wanted complete and utter liberation from GB, Italy, and the rest of Europe.

And an even longer time to set an agenda for the States. Hell, it’s STILL evolving.

well, like i said, i wouldn’t hold my breath for MSNBC, CNN, Fox, ABC, or CBS to report that OWS is making ANY progress. and i also wouldn’t expect for someone to knock on your door and hand you a pamphlet with a play-by-play of OWS goals/endeavors.

They were actually fighting an arcane religion under the Islamic branch. Al Qaeda is not a terrorist cell that consists of bad men. It’s a way of life that keeps popping up and accepted by people in power and want it to be.

You can’t destroy religion. It’ll keep coming back. That’s why this war is pointless.

This is the vibe I get. Maybe there are some people down there committed to making a change but they’ve been outnumbered by people who have nothing better to do.

I agree that there are definitely changes that need to be made within our government but I can’t realistically see those changes being made unless they are made by people who work within the system.

Some people sleeping outside for a few months may bring attention to the cause but that in itself isn’t enough to make any kind of significant progress.

the OWS protests seemed to be inspired by the protests that have been going on in Europe

all these protest seem to lack some focus but there does seem to be a general global consensus that people are pissed off at the system, lol
