Video: Life and Freaky Times of Uncle Luke (Trailer)

Woah, this is gonna be some other, other shit. This is the trailer for a new short film from director Jillian Mayer, the folks at the Borscht Film Festival and Evan Rosenfeld of Miami based production house Rakontur (The U, Cocaine Cowboys).

Synopsis via HufPo:

In the film, Luther Campbell, the former 2 Live Crew frontman and recent Miami mayoral candidate, revolutionizes hip-hop, fights for first amendment rights, and launches Miami into a golden era as mayor. A working cut of the film screened last April at the 2011 Borscht Film Festival at the Arsht Center’s packed Knight Concert Hall.

The film’s narrative peaks when South Florida’s Turkey Point nuclear plant explodes, turning Miami into a radioactive wasteland. Uncle Luke must use his booty bass powers to save the city using old-fashioned methods of repopulation.

You should know by now  never to click on anything with the words “Uncle Luke” attached to it while at work, but just for the record: NSFW. Look for Life and Freaky Times of Uncle Luke to screen at Sundance’s 2012 Short Film Program.

If an artist is to be regarded as top 10, or an album to be hailed a classic, yeah, I think innovation that somehow altered the artform is a necessary component. I usually don’t quote Luda, but he said it best, there aint been no new styles since Big Daddy Kane (no herminator)

And Big and Pun crossed over cuz of personality coupled with the ability to make great songs.

They had hood classics for days, but when Big did One More Chance remix, and Pun did Still Not a Player, that crossed them over. Both were great songs too.
