Only people that don’t know a lot about rap music think 2Pac is one of the illest in terms of talent, no denying he had a huge cultural impact and many feel he’s like some sort of sacred leader with his views and ‘Only God can judge me’ motto and the fact he died before he was old but musically he’s mad overrated.

Of course Illmatic is an incredible record but aside from that Nas ain’t done a lot for me to regard him as one of the best.
Granted there’s a few nice songs in his discography that were released after Illmatic but still

^I wouldn’t say Nas is overrated either. Its just that people want more from Nas than he is.
He chooses horrible beats, has a horrible track record with bitches, forgets his rhymes on stage, takes too long between projects, etc.
But lyrically, that boy is gifted. So gifted that fans know if he just focused, it would be no question about his stature in the game. But… Nas is Nas, so he half asses it when he wants knowing that his half assed shit is still better than 90% of the shit thats out there. But when he focuses, we get Illmatic, It was Written, Stillmatic, etc.
Thats not really overrated, i see that more as wasted potential

BIG was a great rapper but niggas cant ever understate Puff’s role in making that nigga accessible to the masses. Big was borderline horrorcore till Diddy made the nigga realize they were gonna need some bitches to buy them records.

Very true. But with that said, Puff didn’t write Juicy. Or Big Poppa. Without Big’s natural writing ability, Puff’s vision meant nothing.
