so if you wanted to find the sample population for the averge 40-50 year old male in NYC, you’d have to find official data on % of the population of the city, the age bracket your looking for, then essentially more info ont hem

So we’re trying to figure out what is an adequate number of documents to select in order to be representative of the whole set.
I’ve read that 10% is a good number, but we’ll need something a lil more scientific/dependable to rely on should we have to use the data we find in court

depending on the requirments/etc…. but yeah 10% is never bad
if it seems like you didnt get a representative sample, where the files selected (for example lets use invoices) are all $10 invoices but the average amount is usually like $150, well even though you did it without prejiduce and picked 10%, itmay not be a true representation of the population.
ya dig? so essentially the 10% can be by number of items, or the ratio of item totals selected total for all (like with invoice amounts or revenue), etcc
