Ice-T said that Schooly D influenced him as far as flow, but “6 In The Morning” is THE 1st gangster rap song, not P.S.K.
“P.S.K.” was talking about Park Side Killers but it was very vague. That was the only difference, when Schoolly did it, it was ‘…one by one, I’m knockin’ em out’. All he did was represent a gang on his record. I took that and wrote a record about guns, beating people down, and all that with “Six In The Morning”.”
PSK influenced NWA too, in terms of style & cadence but to say he single handedly invented the Gangsta Rap genre is ignorant.
I tried to stay outta this but flagrant shit talk like this…
