Video: Drake Comments On Lil Wayne’s ‘Im Good’ Record

MTV catches up with Drizzy Drake on the red carpet at the BMI Urban Awards and asked him about Lil Wayne’s jab at Jay-Z on ‘Im Good’. Drake basically took the Jada route and distanced himself from the diss.

“I just got a beat and did a verse over it,” Drake told MTV News from the red carpet for the BMI Urban Awards n L.A. on Friday before he accepted the award for Songwriter of the Year. “Whatever any other individual has to say, you have to ask the man himself. I just did what I know how to do. I just got on a record. I heard the beat, did a verse and heard the final product.”

    this nigga Aubrey is the biggest faggot in rap..smiling and saying raps all about ‘individuals’…what a fucking toolbag…the only reason he became relevent in the first place is because rap nowadays is trash

    Marvin’s Room is definitely the softest song I’ve heard on the radio in recent memory.

    ^co-sign Sam. That was very disloyal and pu**y imo. He talks all this ride til the death, I love Wayne bs on record – then they ask him one simple question -he backs out completely.

    He didn’t have to go at Jay. He simply needed to the extent of I’m loyal to Wayne. Then again, these are the type of artists you guys seem to like nowadays – fa**otry is rampant.

    ^Speaking of The Red Album, who can Nas not be featured on “All I Know”. That one is tailor made for Esco. Would have been a classic collab I think.

    I don’t any other crews where it would be cool to do what drake just did. Not in Dipset. Not in G-Unit. Not at the Roc. Not at Maybach Music. Not at Death Row. Drake shoulda been like, “I’mma ride wit him. I’m down for whatever. It’s YMCMB and Wayne is my nigga.” Something along those lines. It’s not like it would be career suicide for Drake if he got involved in the first place. Canadians….smh.

    ============================
    The pop song wit the least recognizable face is the best one on the album.

    And Esco definitely woulda worked well on there.

    Not that Aubrey is a threat of any sort but why is he distancing himself.

    Kinda like how Game said the Curtis beef with Ja, Jada, Fat Joe had nothing to do with him.

    I could sworn Aubrey was throwing subliminals at Jay in the song anyway

    LOL…smh

    Sure, and I love the entertainment value of it. I’ve said several times that I’d like to see Drake and J Cole go at it.

    However it can also be a career killer. Didn’t the war between Nas and Jay actually spark because of Bleek? I heard Jay was defending Bleek over some subliminals he was kickin towards Nas.

    If true this is a prime example of why 3rd parties need to stay the hell outta the way.
