If a Republican wins the presidency….I fear for America.
If so, lines like the ones in Atlanta (see below) will be multiplied many times over.
Thousands (5000) of unemployed waited overnight, camping out in their business suits and office heels and braving the tormenting heat in Atlanta to stand in line for a job fair Thursday. Authorities treated 20 people for heat exhaustion as they struggled to keep the line moving and get people moved inside.
The incredible turnout at the job fair comes on the heels of the state labor commissioner’s announcement that Georgia’s jobless rate rose.
The state unemployment rate increased to 10.1 percent in July from the 9.9 percent in June. The unemployment rate for African-Americans stands at 15.9 percent, far above the national rate of 9.1 percent.
July marks the 48th consecutive month that Georgia has exceeded the national unemployment rate.

Phase 1 of the business model: Network Externality
If you own the only computer in the world with an internet connection it would be worthless
As you said before the internet only works if we all have access
That is why the industry model now is just charge for access
But “we off that”, people need/crave internet access
The industry has now foster enough demand that ISPs will/have begin/begun to do things as:
1. Charging for different internet speeds, forcing non-payers to extremely low speeds capabilities
2. Charging people to get access to certain websites, you pay X dollars a year to visit 100 websites or XX dollars for 500 websites
3. Charging for usage time like cell phone minutes
4. Increase web monitoring by storing web history in a central database
The time is now

Cole ain’t touching 30K a show. No one in their right mind putting that money on the table for J.Cole in this economy. I bet he racks 12-15 a show though.
It’s the same reason Wale ain’t out there knocking out dates. His fee is dumb high for who the fuck he is. Just cause you got 1M Twitter followers, who the fuck cares? These artists performance fees are now inflated because records don’t sell anymore. That much is obvious to me at least.
BTW, people can say what they want about Wiz, but he banked 11M last year. Been on the road steady for like 3 years. Hard to fault him for that work ethic.

I laugh at people who look down on me for not buying albums
It’s a Recession and you’re getting in your car ( gas ) to go to the store ( time ) to buy an album ( cash )
When you can just get the same EXACT files at home without the waste of gas, time and money
Let’s be real, you’re paying $10 for CD Liner Notes and the Plastic Container
Makes real economic sense.

Festivals and Concerts RUN this Industry
^it does seem like people going to live shows alot more tho. But very, very few live shows have sounded better than stereo or headphones to me. Especially rap concerts

He has no hits so why would 350 Thousand people buy his album ???
====================================
Over 6 months – maybe 12 like B.O.B did – slow but steady build up.
I buy 2-3 new albums a year – (new as in released the year I buy it in.)
I go to more shows then albums I buy.
But I’m just saying…Cole needs them sales – Its nothing to me, im not a fan.

Not going to happen – You don’t direct government spending to debt relief entirely while your economy floats near recession levels.
Are debt is not as bad as the PIGS
US treasures are the safest investment vehicle right now
No need for US austerity
and even if Obama tried he couldn’t do it
^^^^^^^^^^^^
No need for austerity? Are you dense? Austerity on some level MUST happen. New revenue and/or further gov’t spending cuts. Do you have any idea why Standard & Poor’s downgraded the U.S. credit rating from AAA to AA+? Evidently not.
It will happen. It has already begun, albeit on a lower level. First stops for gov’t cuts (thus far) are defense spending (Boeing, Raytheon, etc…will hit Northern VA very hard) and Medicare/Medicaid.
Go ahead and invest treasuries and earn 2% on your money. Good luck with that. Eventually your gains will be eroded by inflation.
Our > Are btw.
Our debt is just as bad as the PIIGS (not PIGS). The difference is in the past we could print our way out of it…day-by-day this appears to no longer be an option. Everyone is waiting to hear what Bernanke says at Jackson Hole in the coming days.
The EU/euro is a much more complicated currency situation than one country that controls its own currency.

its like approximately a dollar an album – after youve repaid the label

Cole probably needs to sell some records if he has any hope of getting to release a 2nd or 3rd. not selling albums does effect your pockets in the sense that it may get you dropped or shelved and severely limit your earning potential.

Which is fine, If he wasn’t such a god awful negotiator and he learned that when certain Republican ideas don’t work you think of another solution. Which usually turns out to be the opposite of Conservative thinking.
You lower taxes and they don’t create jobs, you do all sorta of spending cuts to social programs that might help people get jobs, but you end up taking money of people pay checks…but you want people working and spending money to boost the economy?

THIS.
Some of these artists who stay touring like Spitta have their price point figured out very well. Where it is advantageous for them AND the promoter. For those type of artists, making it advantageous for promoters keeps allowing them to get back to those smaller markets. Truth be told, for those artists ALL the markets are important. More shows, more dough. WIN-WIN.
While artists like WHALE are still clueless and charging a dumb high fee. You have to be in one of the top markets to even come close to doing alright.
I know Cole has a label behind him, but I was surprised to see he had all those dates locked down as a headliner. I guess it’s easy to forget the debate used to who will blow up bigger: Drake or Cole? That’s fucking jokes now.
I still don’t see Cole being a good deal in the smaller markets. I don’t know how the tour was put together, but I still know he ain’t getting 30K a show. No one is that dumb.
