Cons spent years helping Kanye build his career & his brand and he just gets unceremoniously pushed to the side for niggas who haven’t put in the same kinda work.
I must’ve missed this – how? He got featured on some pretty ill songs in ‘Spaceship’ and ‘Gone’ – but how much did he really contribute? And how many people honestly think of Consequence when they hear GOOD Music?
Kanye’s focusing on people with more talent (I admittedly don’t understand the Big Sean deal). Cudi, Common, Pusha, Mos Def – that’s an ill roster. Kanye gave Cons his shot, and nothing happened.
Kanye gave Cons his shot
Not really. That album was never gonna do more then Gold just based on the way it was constructed & the promo for it. I thought Cons TV was gonna be a real attempt at making dude pop.
how much did he really contribute?
Depends on who you ask. But I know he helped build GOOD Music as a brand. I don’t think Kanye could deny that.
The only guy that I can recall who had Kanye work on most of his album(s) since he was signed to GOOD was Common. ‘Ye on a lot of other dudes on his labels albums doesn’t put in as much work as he has put into Commons Be and FF. Cons was on Spaceship, Gone, had 3 or 4 tracks from Ye on his debut including Grammy Family, and he got Ye AND John Legend on that one track Whatever You Want. Cons just sucks and Pusha has proven he is better and even got Ye to produce his whole album. Cons been trying to beef with Cudi, Big Sean, and now Pusha and shits stupid. He sucks.
Runaway wouldn’t be the same with Consequence on it.
