Lyrics and rapping are two very different things. Lyrics involve the process of writing towards a point– expressing a feeling, expanding on a concept, etc.
Rapping is just bars– punchlines, similes, etc.
Lyrics often contain gems and quotables and require repeated spins to both absorb and enjoy to their highest level.
Rapping usually has funny moments, but often leaves you with an empty feeling and the question, “what the fuck did he just say?”, usually resulting in you never listening again.
