Jadakiss as a guest is almost on par with Busta and Luda.

I don’t understand people’s problem with pandering. This is a fucking business that involves selling and marketing a product. wtf. Over doing it is one thing, but just flat out hating pandering? I don’t get it.

Why would a drug kingpin need to be a rapper? To indict himself on wax? SMFH
June 29th, 2011 at 11:06 am
I’m not sure If Game make the right single that he get support from the label, I’m sure after 3 albums (2 w/out Dre & Curtis) that Iovine realizes Game not a breadwinner and never will be.

You can make money without pandering. Or at least you used to be able to do that as a rapper.
Instead of pandering, identify the demographic you want to appeal to from the jump and make it obvious. Don’t establish one fan base to get on and abandon them at the first shake of a decent dollar.
Doing that just betrays a lack of principle. Art (yes, rap is art) isn’t like other industries. Artists need to maintain the illusion that this shit matters on a deeper level or what’s the fucking point?

Game’s window of opportunity is closed… west coast gangster rappers is played out…

most rappers can’t even pull of pandering right though…
they jump on the most generic sounding regional beats and sound so out of place, it’s uncomfortable for the listener

I suppose we just need to define what we mean by ‘pandering’.
If it’s this shit:
A person who assists the baser urges or evil designs of others
Then I can’t fuck with it.

I’ll put this succinctly; i will NEVER get mad at anyone who is trying to sell their product by any means necessary. You have markets and you have to cater to those markets/demo’s. You basically have to do what ever it is to stay alive. Business and morals/ethics have never mixed.
June 29th, 2011 at 11:13 am
You know your ship has sailed when you got no sort of buzz with a Wayne verse and a chris brown hook on your album
It’s over baby(n)
June 29th, 2011 at 11:13 am
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with intentionally making songs for the purpose of appealing to a broader audience. It’s not easy tho.
