I did community service work at one once for a couple of months, even at the ones where they don’t beat up patients it’s still mad depressing….a bunch of peoples grandparents just left there alone all day and there kids come for like 30 min on holidays

my uncle recently sent my grandma to a nursing home. she in her 90s. they live in CA still. my uncle is pushin 70, my mom tried to get her to move to TX so she could take care of her, but she didn’t want to. my other aunt has a slow son so she already has her hands full. My sister took care of her for a while, but she would come home from work and my grandma would be on her back like “oh i fell so I just waited for you”. Then she moved to my uncle’s (he is retired) for a while before he got a home for her.

what can we do? my uncle gonna have to be changin his own diapers soon too. I feel bad, but its really nothing I can do about it. I don’t wanna live that long. I wouldn’t want my family to worry about me like that.

Yeah everybody has a different situation. I honestly couldnt take care of a family member who needed round the clock care cuz i dont have the time. I applaud anyone that does tho. My cousin is taking care of my Aunt now cuz she has cancer and that shit is draining physically, emotionally, and financially.
