    ROFL.

    That nigga paused Pharrell. Pause.

I’d be shocked if this was a Neptunes beat – then again, there are a few random things that make it sound Neptuney.

    ^

Neptunes been fell off. Last good beat was in 2007

I’ve heard probably every neptunes beat ever released. I stdy their music. They fell off BAD and Pharrell even admitted it. The only good beats i can think of is the tracks they did with Gucci Mane, but those were probably old beats that they sold to him…cause their new shit is pretty terrible

  17. hl Says:

I ain’t never really liked the Neptunes. Except some of the stuff they did with the Clipse.

  18. Smooth Says:

Yea N.E.R.D seeing sounds was incredible though…but thats NERD….we’re talking about The Neptunes – which serves as commercial hiphop/pop producers

  19. Deen Says:

    Everyone has their time.

The fact that major artists still think of calling the Neptunes means they’re doing fine.

No producer can maintain the hot streak forever. Everyone falls back a bit at some point.

Falling off is a whole other thing all together for a producer. That’s when the best rappers lose your phone number…

The joints they did for Nore and Kiss were dope as well

    Neptunes killed The Games career

  24. Harlem World Says:

Pharrell is scoring film soundtracks – gotta go where the money is.

  25. LeRoy Green Says:

One of my fav Neptunes beats is So Ambitious off of BP3.

I love that song and Hov’s lyrics was perfect. Thats a great song and def a highlight off that album

    Tyga – Really Raw [ll]

That’s the last dope Neptunes beat I heard and that was a month or two ago.

They’re probably due for another hit soon.

Big Neptunes fan until around the time Pharrell and the Asian started doing separate work. Still a fan.

NERD fell off after the first album.

  36. hl Says:

    smh

Raekwon’s version of “Shake” was actually pretty dope. Game’s not so much.

  37. Marv Says:

N.E.R.D.’s last album was the dopest….

Lol…trust me…Britney isnt picking up Pharrells phone calls anymore
Which rapper still fucks with the neptunes? They go to drumma boy, kane beatz, the inkredibles, justice league…
Of course theyll do a studio session andtry to work with the neptunes…but thats cause the neptunes are LEGENDS…they made CLASSICS…they are cemented in history and have everybodys respect….
But trust me, when a&r’s are discussing an album, they arent thinkin “yo we need 3 neptunes beats”…
Its pharrell reaching out to rick ross, not the other way round

And Timbaland has had like 3 runs. Neptunes had 1

  39. Deen Says:

    Neptunes killed The Games career

    ^^^

    NO.

The Game killed his own career.

It’s one thing to befriend industry niggas. It’s a whole other thing to work with a nigga when there’s no chemistry there at all. Pause.

Game needs to make stereotypical west coast shit.

    1. Call some of the niggas that make beats for Dom Kennedy and Fly Union and Pac Div.
    2. Have them make the most gangsta shit they can with some rolling synths. Make a hit.
    3. Drop album.
    4. Rinse and repeat.

  40. AmpGeez a.k.a. Amphernee Hardaway Says:

No producer can maintain the hot streak forever. Everyone falls back a bit at some point.
    ^^^^

You have to be able to reinvent your sound though.

Timbaland did it…by getting other niggas to ghost produce for him.

Neptunes got another run in em though. They just need to work with the right artist.

I think Neptunes/50 Cent could generate some hits.

    ^^^

Pharrell probably ain’t calling anyone. He doesn’t need them. That nigga is richer than all those artists and he’s doing movie scores.

They’re obviously not the behemoth that they once were, but the Neptunes still hold weight. They’ve just been less prolific. Three summers ago, Pharrell did an ENTIRE Madonna album (save one song with Timbaland). All those niggas you named will NEVER see that kind of gwap.

Timbaland may have had 3 different runs, but none of those runs was individually as dominant as The Neptunes’ run. That shit was extended as fuck. Careers were launched and revived off that shit.

But we can agree that they def cooled off a bit.

    ^^^

Nah. Jayceon needs to get with Dr. Dre, DJ Quik, Battlecat, Scoop DeVille, Terrace Martin, etc.. Vats who are proven WC hitmakers

He’s too concerned with making a crossover album at this point in his career. An album like The Doctor’s Advocate was the balance between the two.

R.E.D. needs to be The Doctor’s Advocate 2.

His first run changed the game and opened the door for alot of careers…including The Neptunes.
