Video: Jim Jones Remembers His First Song

Wednesday, April 13th, 2011

Jimmy reminisces on his debut verse on “Me, My Moms & Jimmy” off Cam’s debut album, Confessions of Fire.

This song was cool as a novelty, after all, it’s not everyday somebody’s mom spits on a track, but in reality it ended up being a skipper on what is ultimately my least favorite Cam album. Sorry Ms. Giles, but you just didn’t have the mic presence to pull off all of that rappin. Jay had the right idea having Gloria just provide narration on “December 4th”.

L.A. Reid Hints at Future Music Label Executive Position

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011

It comes as no surprise to those who know how these things work, but earlier today L.A. Reid explained to Angie Martinez that he didn’t resign as head of Island Def Jam to simply judge Simon Cowell’s X-Factor for the rest of his days (he was replaced by Barry Weiss):

Listen, I’m nobody’s fool, I didn’t give up my day job. I just left, I had to leave Universal Music Group and try my hat on someplace else, that we’ll announce, well… we’ll announce that in a little while.
