Says Sam over at iHipHop:
So about 6 months ago I attempted to create a compilation album of independent hip-hop artists. Basically CurT@!n$ and Big K.R.I.T. were the only artists that didn’t give me sh*tty throw away rap music so shouts to them for that. I didn’t feel like forcing out some mediocre project just for the sake of it so I deaded it. However one good thing that did come out of the attempt was this song.
CurT@!n$ – Itz Alright (Prod. by DJ Nebulla & Lenny Dee)

Back at it, took some time off, had to get some life shit situated
On the heels of their massive Biggie document dump, the FBI has now released their file on Tupac. Well, one of their files on Tupac, because I don’t believe for one second that they had 600 pages on somebody as relatively harmless as Biggie, but all they have on Pac is this one file about this one incident. I know a bunch of pages from their investigation into his murder had previously leaked, but I’m guessing they’re still holding onto most of the good stuff. Because, let’s be serious, homie’s parents were Panthers, they were probably watching dude before he even made it out the womb. In any event, the files they released today deal with their investigation into the suspected extortion of Pac and Eazy-E by the Jewish Defense League, a pro-Israel group that has been classified as a domestic terrorist organization. The group was infamously linked to Dr. Dre’s departure from Ruthless Records and the subsequent negotiations between Ruthless and Death Row.

Swizz Beatz sat down with Paper Mag to discuss his new position as Creative Director over at Reebok and spilled the beans on some of his Haute Living album guests, including a song he has with Bono and Kanye West called “Skyscrapers”:
Can you tell me a bit about your upcoming album?
Haute Living is the album. Super amazing album. I hope that people feel that way–I do. The first single is out right now. It’s called “Everyday,” featuring myself and Eve. We got Lenny Kravitz on the album, Lil’ Wayne on the album, Bono is on the album, Jay-Z is on the album.
Bono?
Yeah. We got this song–it’s me, Bono and Kanye on this one song called “Skyscrapers.” I recorded with Kanye in the studio and then I recorded with Bono in this actual studio right here. Mary J. Blige is on the album; John Legend is on the album. But they’re on the album in super amazing ways. It’s not like a compilation–it’s a nice mixture of creativity. I had no boundaries with it; I had great partners on the album–Reebok was supporting me.

Lil Wayne took a minute out to dead the usual MediaTakeOut bullshit, this time about a cougar girlfriend (in actuality, his stylist.)
Afterwards he announces he’s on the prowl for Notre Dame’s women basketball pointguard Skylar Diggins, puts on her jersey and then does the gayest dance ever for her.
