I think he knows that people are better at some aspects (like Lupe & actually rapping), but Kanye probably thinks he is the BEST musician ever.
Like no one puts it all together like him. Videos, beats, raps etc.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Jay wrote that “you made it a hot line, I made it a hot song” shit years ago.
Thats why he used P & Nas lines so much… so he could diss them later. LOL.

And if you don’t think Kanye dont wanna be recognized as the best, then you don’t understand the position he in– you dont make it that far without that type of desire, b, whether he says it or not.
The over-the-top shit he does is how he stunts, b, not always in the rhymes.

Kanye is one of the few rappers who will say that other rappers are better than him. Kind of funny when you contrast it to his otherwise arrogant persona. But I honestly don’t think Kanye thinks anyone is better than him, even if he says it, haha.

Agreed. The thing that always held Kanye off the best ever lists was his pure MCing ability. Even though on select songs he showed he could rap really well, and on his others those are songs no one should ever try to spaz on anyway [imagine Eminem on Family Business].
That’s how you start your career with 4-5 classics [when the next best guys has maybe 3 classics to his name], and still get left off GOAT lists.

^
I mean, as much shit as I give CamelGOAT, lets not front like he didn’t want to EARN his spot– he was just an unfortunate victim of his peer group. Nigga started rapping when Big and Nas did, and they (rightfully IMO) overshadowed him. Combine with the Wu, Puff, Death Row/Snoop/Dre, West Coast, and the movement Steve Rifkind put together at Loud, and it was clear CamelGOAT was doomed to be a niche artist for a LONG time.
Unfortunately/Fortunately, Nas “fell asleep,” Big died, Pac died, Death Row Collapsed, etc; and Jay dumbed it down enough for people to “get it”, then dropped the single of his career. That started his run, and he maintained it thanks to being able to navigate the industry and allow a lot of other people to take “bullets” for him, notably Dame.
My main gripe,as you said, is the revisionist history and constant subliminals. That shit is wack to me, B.

@Seth, starting with CD and Rhymefest to Kid Cudi and 808s, Kanye has ALWAYS had some form of additional writing help, whether they straight up wrote the rhyme, coached his rhyme, or provided bars for him to spit.
Like I said, he’s a producer first, so I don’t see any problem with it.

clifford is a better rapper than ye.rhymefest wrote jesus walks no?ye’s music surpasses his competition because he is the fucking producer.a lot of times the creator of the track will have to tell the artist rapping on said track how to approach it, what to say etc.ye already has his vision in his head all he has to do is execute, and sometimes he will bring in outside producers.ye is gifted when it comes to melodies and crafting hooks, he has an unfair advantage over other rappers(musically).

Jay-Z is the only guy to survive and be relevant as long as he did, and was the second guy to really put out classic in differing eras of hip hop [Dre]. He’s still my pick right now for GOAT.
Thing is, he does politic his way into being considered that way by the public. And his greatest skill really is rewriting the history.
And lastly, the third guy to make classics in differing eras of hip hop is Kanye. And unlike Jay, Ye isn’t treading water right now, he’s still at his peak and could very well go further.
