Nate Dogg, aka Nathanael Hale, passed away last night at age 41. Although he sufferred two strokes in recent years, his cause of death is still uknown. Nate will of course go down as the definitive hook man of the 90′s G-Funk era, the embodiment of entire movement in a single man. He will be missed greatly.

I’ll be honest, I don’t know much about this kid, but he’s got some spit to him and I love his energy on this shit. This video above isn’t really representative of his talent (no beat, the sound is shitty), but the kid has bars. I’m really just posting this to mention that you can catch him at our little shindig in Austin on Thursday and the pages of XXL this month.
I heard the Monch album earlier today and he’s got some tough joints on there for sure. It’s definitely one of those albums you need to sit down with undistracted to really digest the concept, and I didn’t get a chance to do that. But after a cursory listen? Sounding good.
