but Lebron is still a better overall player than Kobe. Not scoring, over all game.
^
James is either a physical freak of nature or he’s actually like 35 years old. either way, he’s not better than Kobe. Kobe’s game is 100% refined to perfection. James’? well the evidence speaks for itself. . .

Kobe’s game is as someone said, refined. He’s a much better overall player than lebron. But physically, Lebron has the potential to be a great, but that window closes every year that he doesnt improve

Yesterday’s lost gave me shades of his last game in cleveland. In Cle, he literally gave up, but yesterday, it looked like he wasn’t trying to win that game.
There’s no way that Joakim Noah keeps you from the basket when guarding you from the top of the key. And this is for game… should never happen

that’s the thing. this shit has been studied and proven. Jame’s career isn’t going to last much longer. people always say, “Well where was Jordan at in his career at age 28?” it just doesn’t work like that. when you come into the league early like James, your NBA years = dog years. fact.

which brings me to my next point of why Kobe is better. for whatever reason, James simply hasn’t developed that ‘Killer Instinct’ that seperates the GREATS from everyone else. James isn’t even clutch, which is something that GOOD players are. Killer Instinct is like the next gear above being simply clutch.
March 7th, 2011 at 12:49 pm
I think LeBron has nearly peaked as far as potential goes (nh), and when he loses his athletic ability as he gets older, which WILL happen a lot of his skill set will go too, he isn’t a great shooter like Kobe is and relies on his athletic ability in order to rebound, drive to the basket etc.
He is a great player no doubt one of the best to ever play basketball, but how much better can he get? Will he average 30 10 and 10 one season? Cause if he gets any better than surely the numbers would reflect it.
I can’t see LeBron winning as many rings as MJ or Kobe in his career and that is who he will be measured against forever (again, nh)
March 7th, 2011 at 12:50 pm
^Kobe & Garnett came in the league at 18. They’re doing just fine
^
they’ve had to deal with injuries and needed to refine their games as a result of the lack of explosiveness/athleticism in order to keep playing at their current levels
March 7th, 2011 at 12:52 pm
Kobe & Garnett came in the league at 18. They’re doing just fine

i know you’re just playing DA, but the reality of it is that Kobe is 32 and has the physique of a 38 year old who’s trying to maintain the physical output of a 36 year old. KG is 34, but looks like Robert Parish did in his final season.
March 7th, 2011 at 12:52 pm
Its not even about being clutch. Its about having that desire not to lose. Sam Cassell by no stretch of the imigination is even a top 15 pg in nba history, but his desire not to lose, willed him to win big games.
Rob Horry is not a top 15 PF, but he was clutch. The pressure of the moment made him play better.
Kobe has both of those traits. Lebron is missing the clutch trait and has shown that will to win games in the past, but its just not there yet this season
March 7th, 2011 at 12:53 pm
LeBron has better stats than Kobe, but Kobe is a better shooter, is deadly in the clutch, and is a proven champion 5 times over.

But see with both KG and Kobe, they learned that there are other ways to get better and refine their game, but that came only after losing something, first step, explosiveness, or in kobe’s case missing those free throws in like his second year.
They found what they needed to work on and they worked on it. This is the part that I think Lebron is missing. He’s busy running around with hov and focusing on money off the court, but he doesn’t realize that if he doesn’t win, none of the off the court shit will be there, cuz no one endorses mediocrity. You have to be a winner for others to want to be like you
March 7th, 2011 at 12:56 pm
LeBron is more athletic than Garnett or Kobe ever were, LeBron is a freak of nature being his height, speed, balance, all that shit.

^But thats the point. Create the contact and get the rim, you’re either gonna go to the line for an and-1 or shoot free throws to win the game.

that wasnt the play spolstra drew up. Nor was that what lebron had in mind. He aint know what to do when he saw noah guarding him cuz he knows noah wouldve ripped him up or he was gonna miss the jumper with noah in his face. So obviously that was the best shot he could take.
