Sonically, Melvin Flynt was actually dope and a little of ahead of its time. Most of the rhymes are godawful tho. And sometimes garbage lyrics work with the right delivery over ill production, but I can’t say this was one of those times.

I actually thought Melvin Flynts beat selection hampered that project. He moved away from a more “mafioso”, Queens-based musical selection to a more synth based sound that Nore just isn’t very inspired over. I think thats why the jawns like Sometimes, Gangsta’s Watch and Blood Money 3 are superior music in comparison to Wethuggedout, and Oh No. Plus, the dumb ass collabs (Missy? Juve? Wayne?) and the over-abundance of weed carriers doomed that project.
I do agree with your order, though.

Yes, most people who rap have specific influences and rhyme cadences they use when they are first learning HOW to rap– like, when they move on from the cipher to actually attempting to pen rhymes. You’ll usually hear this in their delivery, or in some of the terms they use, or word inflection.
Eventually, however, you move on and find your own voice.
HW, Land, and others say I “sound” like Nore. Vocally, yea, I can agree with that, but musically and lyrically, I don’t think we are alike.
Now, if the first line my first record was ” We on the run eating”, would that be homage or biting?

first track I ever heard from Ross. I was back home a couple years ago in Atlanta at Strokers and the place went bananas when the DJ put it on.
I was more familiar with The Runners moreso than Ross at that point, but that track is a hit and has gotta be on any definitive Ross collection mix. it’s a staple in his catalog.
