Had all the makings of a great album…and failed.

Gotta respect Nas for making Streets Disciple a personal album that was never gonna move units cause it wasn’t a Pop album.

That shit was Hip-Hop for Hip-Hop heads.

No Lenny Kravitz or Sean Paul here.

they love to ignore it. Easily the illest record of the whole battle. The silly hook is it’s only weakness… But, lyrically nothings rivals it.

Yeah, cause Jay showed his thong strap & basically ethered himself with his whining.

Like, I understood why CamelGOAT had to make Takeover so tough.

I do think he should have used the second verse on Superugly on Takeover, though, instead of giving Albert any shine on that song– CamelGOAT thought he could eliminate all his enemies Ala KRS-One’s “Bridge is Over” and like I said, fucked around and let the Lil Homie wake up to drop Ether.

    But thats just me.

  24. rex hussla Says:

Desert dwellers wishing to transform their arid surroundings into a profitable, crop-sustaining oasis have reportedly gotten one step closer to making that dream a reality, as Abu Dhabi scientists now claim to have created more than 50 artificial rainstorms from clear skies during peak summer months in 2010.

According to Arabian Business, the storms were part of a top secret, Swiss-backed project, commissioned by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, president of the UAE and leader of Abu Dhabi. Called “Weathertec,” the climate project — said to be worth a staggering $11 million — utilized ionizers resembling giant lampshades to generate fields of negatively charged particles, which create cloud formation, throughout the country’s Al Ain region, the Telegraph is reporting.

“We are currently operating our innovative rainfall enhancement technology, Weathertec, in the region of Al Ain in Abu Dhabid,” Helmut Fluhrer, the founder of Metro Systems International, the Swiss company in charge of the project, is quoted as saying. “We started in June 2010 and have achieved a number of rainfalls.”

Out of luck, no constructive plans

You said if I would sober up, I’d be a powerful man
Turned out the street life, you prayed I wouldn’t
But every church in the world can’t save our children
I stayed out late, you heard shots, thought it would be
Your older son on the ground dead, but fortunately
The bullets had some other names on it, the brother was blind
I hit the el, than we yell out, “It wasn’t my time!”
I loaded up shells, one by one, you smelled blunt from my room door
    Little Nasir was at war
And little did I care what you saw
Crew deep with a few heat, now it’s time we settle the score

But in the projects, I visit Muhammad, in linen garments
Preaching Man, Woman, and Child, the living Prophet
And I’m similar, Nasir Bin Olu Dara
Visqu Allah, fist full of dollars in the dice game God
The Ice King, God, the Black Christ, elegant stance
Clothes fit me like a crime boss, the menacing man
I see the world collapsing, young pregnancies
Young girls are fast and in their Sasoon jeans, no prophylactic
All this fast s*** and fly jewelry, now makes my eyes teary
N Y City, grab a hold and ride with me

Rip the FREEWAY, shoot through MEMPHIS with money bags
Stop in Philly, order cheese steaks and eat BEANS fast
And bring it back up top, remove the fake king of New York
You show off, I count off when you sample my voice
I rule you, before, you used to rap like the FU-SHNICKENS
NAS designed your BLUEPRINT, who you kidding?
Is he H TO THE IZZO, M TO THE IZZO?
For shizzle you phony, the rapping version of SISQO
And that’s for certain, you clone me, your wack clothes line
I’d rather Sean John, bore me with your fake coke rhymes
And those times, they never took place, you liar
Un was your first court case, you had no priors
You master fabricated stories of streets and sound slick
Have you surrounded, you and the faggot you down with

While they riding NAS, trying to boost their careers
Corny as CORMEGA, all you Hip-Hop queers
Since ILLMATIC, IT WAS WRITTEN: I AM…NASTRADAMUS
That’s the answers to the puzzle I gave you, now here’s a promise
My next few albums, instead of projects,
They’ll be a difficult test inside the cover for the mind’s optics

Come in my hood, but bring the guns with you, it’s dark
Headed through Brooklyn, Queens, Harlem, Staten, and Bronx
Headed through Compton, Oaktown, South Central, and Watts
New Orleans, Mississippi, Chi-town, every block
I’m trying to have my positive ways, I put my rhymes on page
Did crimes and headline on stage
I Signed a contract, so here it is, you have it
    Streets disciple, I’m STILLMATIC

Queens was mafiso rap, Brooklyn was stick up kid music, Harlem was Hustler raps, Long Island was Case of the PTA Rap.

BIG definitely added a West coast sensibility to East Coast hiphop, but I don’t see the parallel between that and what Jay did. And like it or not, the era that most consider the proliferation of overly simplistic nonsense rap was led by Southern artists. I like that type of music, but for too long there was no balance. Autotune was NEVER a requirement.

It certainly wasn’t for a rapper the stature of CamelGOAT.

What he did was calculated, and hell, KRS and Buckshot said it first.

He didn’t speak out about it when Ri Ri was using Auto-tune, or Terius, or William and Theodore did the Boss.

He waited it out, then spoke on it when there was no more money to be made.

Don’t front like he killed Autotune.

Autotune went the way of the screwed and chopped hook, the scratches instead of a hook, the Nate Dogg hook, the Busta Rhymes hook, shout rap, etc.

I think this statement itself, prompted alot of the disdain for the music Jay has been putting out…

Like I said and this is no bullshit… I didnt hear ANY bad about BP3 till I got to this C-Section, and I think it was because the Nas fans, no offense, were pissy that Nas wasnt doin anything worth listening too…

    ^

Well, I KNOW I told niggas I hated BP3, even when they were trying to convince themselves that it was dope (and failing), trying to find songs worth listening to.

I just think CamelGOAT has given up because he knows he’s entered that place where people will buy his crap no matter what.

I mean, if BP3 was BP1, that niggas career would be over= FACT.

If Kingdom Come was his first album, that nigga would be on a XXL milk carton= FACT.

That nigga is riding trends (Timbs= We off that?? FOH) and dick riding the youth in order to remain relevant. Musically, he’s bankrupt. He has nothing to rap about anymore– He’s not struggling anymore, he has no enemies, and he’s “already home” (his words), so all the bragging now comes off as condecending and fake.

Which is why I just stopped checking for him.

If you’re Nas,you still got the storytelling going for you and the skilled delivery, but what about? Divorce? Child support? Who knows? But,if I had to bet and judging from BP3,Nas got a better solo in him than Jay Z. Watch The Throne is gone be a piggyback off Kanye move. No points for that.

*doesn’t take Deens comment as an insult*

When I say Lost musicially I mean to say that Nasir has yet to identify the next sound he wants to carry him into this next part of his career.

    Listen to Victory.

    Listen to LRNA 2.

Listen to a song off Distant Relatives.

None of those song are the same, thematically or otherwise. Nasir sounds so much more focused on LRNA 2 than on anything in DR, which sounded like a Marley album. I can understand Lil homie wanting to move into a new phase in his career musically, but right now (judging by the last two leaks), he’s still searching for “it”– and right now he’s just settling because he can’t find it.

And for the record, i have never listened to a Lil Homie album for a lesson– that nigga is a 9th grade dropout, fuck he gonna tell me?

Truth. It just played on the iTunes shuffle, in fact. The alternate mix is best though, the beat’s just way grimier.

I really liked How I Got Over. Although I’m a Blu stan and “The Day”/”Radio Daze” were his first features on a major label release, so I probably appreciate the album more because of that.

HerFavoriteColo(u)r and GODleeBarnes(lp) mastered versions being released on February 15th, btw. Also a NewWorldColor mixtape dropping before NoYork!.

  544. Deen Says:

    Riiiight.

As I hinted at earlier, the only original idea Jay ever had was recruiting Just Blaze and Kanye and building his sound around them. His best work came out of that. Everything else is derivative as fuck.

On the low, I kinda like American Gangster, even if it was a lazy gimmick. Too bad the replay value is non-existent.

This discussion may have influenced me to go give BP3 another listen. I’ll probably regret it, but it’ll be OK since I’ll switch to something else before ‘Forever Young’ comes on.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick: “Last night, we were 14-2. This morning, we’re 0-0.
Patriots coach Bill Belichick just concluded a day-after-game conference call, addressing the team’s mindset heading into its bye week. He went over the play of some youngsters, was mum on injuries, and said the roster move to put suspended LB Brandon Spikes back on the roster will come later today.

“When we left here last night, we were 14-2,” Belichick said of the team’s regular season. “This morning we’re 0-0.”

That’s the mindset. That’s the way the Patriots were talking last night, that’s the way Belichick was talking today. They have accomplished a lot, with a first-round bye, home-field advantage and the ability to play the lowest seeded team in the playoffs.

But they still need to win games to get to the Super Bowl.

“The next game is going to be our toughest game of the year,” Belichick said. “We’re going against our toughest competition in our next game, because we’re playing a team that wins (this weekend). That’s where we are.”

The plan now — without an idea of which team they are playing — is to do a modified self-scouting process to improve themselves.

“The most important thing for us is to try to improve in our own performance and preparation, doing things we can do to help ourselves,” Belichick said. “Then, once we find out who we are going to play, wait until it gets trimmed down, we’ll be a little more specific. We need to take a look at some things we need to improve on and do a better job with technique-wise and assignment-wise and our overall execution. There are certainly a lot of things we can do better. We need to address those, regardless of who we play. Until we can specifically tailor those improvements and adjustments an corrections to a particular team, we’ll just have to do it on a generic basis to try and help ourselves get better for whoever that next opponent happens to be.”

I speak thru music, i reach u dudes, we can get deeper in the dirt than cleat shoes

I refuse to lose, i peeped u dudes three months in advance, i see right thru u Judas

the man that i am, and damn u dont know, the harder u come at me, the harder i go, lets do this

ya just a mirror reflecting my image, the minute u switch up ya face i pick up the pace, its nothing to it

pull hammers from my waist, we can clap at this amateur pace, if thats whats cracking or we can do this on All Madden

can u even fathom not having a fear in the world, i’m cool in my afterlife if i’m reading these chapters right

please what have u, i breeze thru Matthews, Johns, and Lukes
cowards die a thousand deaths, fake fucks face down on ya housing steps

are u even getting this message, i aint being aggressive but if its my life u testing, i gotta answer, gotta cut off the cancer, aye yungin pull ya pants up

u getting too big for ya britches, u messing wit a dude that did it wit digits,
    breathing’s a privelege

shit dont u know, when ya defeated, wont u throw, just throw in the towel im better with vowels

im a man of priciples, damn near invincible, in my own mind
    now that my soul’s aligned

didn’t know before now my roles defined, and if u niggas want my shine then come and get me,

try to take my life and u coming with me, niggas try to take me for granted and i’ll take u off this planet

dammit man this is a gift from God, this aint happenstance, plus your arms is too short to box

we knuckle up unorthodox, man u cant take me off grind, get off my cock
(what u thought) its da roc,

Erin Rodgers’ (see what I did there) heart pumps strawberry Nestle Quik.

I guarantee, the Eagles will have the ball with 2:30 sec left with a chance to win … and Vick won’t even throw a pass. He will just run the ball up the field and score.

^The major difference between NFL owners and Soccer club owners are NFL owners for the most part are businessmen first, fans second. so their moves come from a business stand point (with the exception of jerry jones), and soccer owners are fans of the game that are also shrewd business men, so their moves come from the standpoint of whats good for the game/team, then how financially viable it is.

But I dont know too much about soccer club owners, so I could be wrong

LF: So a female messaged me over NYE talking about she drunk she wanted to know whats up. These times i’ve had a few, so I entertained it since alcohol puts the idea of monogamy in a sleeper hold. At first she talking about I should come around now, about how she feeling horny, about forget about her boyfriend right now we young and having fun So I’m like cool, got her all amped up talking about what she gonna do when I get there just to make sure she don’t think this is some coming round to spoon shit. So I say I’m’ma get a cab from this bar to your flat, then she like no she renting out her flat she back at her parents house. So I’m like WTF cause I know she got like 3 younger sisters, a bro, one of those crowded nicca houses. So she like “oh yeah, maybe you can rent a hotel cause I got no money”

So now I’m thinking I have to pay to f*ck a 7.5 at best, this aint right. Then she start telling me about how I’m the one that got away, how she cant wait for me to make love, how she want be to be gentle. WTF?! NOBODY wants that shit from a side-piece, WTF

So I just dead it, said my friends aren’t looking to leave the bar. Now she pinging me all morning about “we need to talk” “the balls in your court” etc
