Dr. Dre feat. Eminem – I Need A Doctor + Kush [Mastered]

Wednesday, November 17th, 2010

Another Detox rough cut leaked earlier this morning, just as Interscope launched DrDre.com with the official mix of “Kush”.

Dr. Dre made it clear yesterday on Big Boy’s Neighborhood that he wasn’t planning on pushing “Kush” (ha) as a single because it’s the only weed song on Detox and he didn’t want people to think that’s what the album is about, but the positive response so far has made him reconsider.

Drake’s New Album Title: Take Care

Tuesday, November 16th, 2010

Towards the end of the Light Dreams & Nightmares tour, Ben Baller put up a blog post mentioning Drake repeating the words “Take Care” throughout the night.

In the new issue of GQ, Drake reveals the name of his sophomore effort is called Take Care. For the moment, he’s only mentioned working with 40, but 9th Wonder is also supposed to produce on this album and he’s trying to collaborate with Justin Timberlake.

Video: The Foodchain – Reverse Psychology

Tuesday, November 16th, 2010

Denver-based collective The Foodchain released their “Corpses” album yesterday 11/16 on iTunes through Statik Selektah’s Showoff Digital imprint. After hearing the project, Statik was so impressed by the album that he inquired about its label home. A deal was signed after a trip to NYC that included rocking with Talib Kweli, 1982, Strong Arm Steady, Artifacts & more.

“Corpses” features Talib Kweli, Little Brother, Joe Scudda and Chaundon. Appropriately dubbed “The Foodchain”, the Denver-based live hip-hop collective is comprised of 4 MC’s, 2 producers, a DJ and a drummer.

The group vows to make music true to the heart first, focusing on issues political to social and every point in between. There are street driven records like “Fucc Niggaz” featuring Talib Kweli (video coming soon,) as well as more radio friendly records like Rich Girl Song featuring Rapper Big Pooh of Little Brother. Politically driven records like Drama Class and Blind balance ‘Corpses’ as a well rounded, inspiring, and powerful project that will be sure to last the tests of time.
