My basic plan is this: if said artist isn’t too uppity, I’ll attend a concert and buy merch, or better yet, just give dude straight cash. I feel happy about it, artist gets the cash without losing a cut to the powers that be. Everyone wins.

Tour Money > Album sales
^^
See but now labels are tryina fuck up artists money ’cause they got the whole 360 deal happening…
10% of everything and shit…So what you’re really doing is supporting the labels instead of supporting the artists ’cause the artist ain’t really making much off that $7.99 you gave to purchase his/her album….

I’m all for purchasing albums as well. Every LP I’ve heard this year, I’ve bought. In D-Block’s defense, I’m pretty sure he’s copping Kanye’s record, and its not like he posted the actual retail.
^
Speaking of buying LP’s, i just got my copy of MM4 in the mail a few days ago and it came completely untagged. smfh.. do you think i really wanna sit there and tag every single song? c’mon…i pay 20 bucks for a mixtape (shipping included), the least you can do is have the music tagged for bacons sake.

Wasn’t DJ Clue callin himself Killuminati back in like 99-2000?
I always thought Outlaws had good music.

I’m just saying support your fav. artists. Purchase their albums, go to their concerts, etc.
Compensate rappers for the hard work and time they put in their music.
Imagine if Eminem would have just came out in 2005….during the download era….
we would of never had a chance to experience his greatness…and he would of never sold 80-100 million records worldwide.
Having a successful album go multi-platinum…gives an artist to go harder the next time a round and be more creative….its like a pat on the back…

I agree with “fuck boy music” – need to support the artists you fuck with. If nothing else – for selfish reasons. Show the labels that there is a lane for that type of artist making that type of music. Show the artists he has fans that are interested in his product. If you don’t – that artist will slowly fade away and find another way to support themselves…
This Outlawz mixtape is tight. Not feeling the first track or facedown, but other than that…quality.

I met killah priest at a show he did where there were literally 10 of us there, 2 feet in front of the stage, smoking and drinking. I bought 3 cd’s off of him and told him about the ill spot to get an organic turkey burger. I met him and his squad there and we chilled and ate burgers. The funniest shit? I told him how Sav Killz had told me at a previous show that Prodigy was an asshole and Priest was like yeah, he’s out of his fucking mind.

“Having a successful album go multi-platinum…gives an artist to go harder the next time a round and be more creative….its like a pat on the back…”
Em never got more creative, the success boxed him in to making essentially the same album over and over…even when he finally got outside producers, he tried to get them to make their own versions of the wack beats he usually raps on (khalil tried to bring some heat and just killed it with the bonus track featuring slaughterhouse)
