Audio: Big L & Jay-Z – Stretch Armstrong & Bobbito Show Freestyle (10 Minute Version)
How’s this for a rare gem. We’ve all heard the legendary, 7 minute, back and forth freestyle session between L and Hov from the February 23, 1995 episode of the The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show on WKCR. Shit, most of us can probably spit it word for word. But unless you were listening or recording that night, you probably haven’t heard this extended, nearly 10 minute version.
Two of the best lyricists of all time. Pay homage:
Big L & Jay-Z – Stretch Armstrong & Bobitto Show Freestyle (10 Minute Version)

Yo i remember one time when me, Chea and Ghostface was backstage after a show. This badass chick, real athletic, a long distance jogger, walked pass and Ghost was like “yo shorty, lemme holla at you.” I seent the glint in her eye when she walked past, so i threw some extra British in my accent on some “You alright luv. Lemme get a butchers of ya in the hotel suit.” Chea standing there, mouth wide open (n) as grabbed the broad, my Savile Row bespoke shirt on show, and took her back to the hotel we was all staying at. Chea played wing man and fucked the precious-looking friend, whilst Ghost stayed asking for sloppy seconds. She let him hit. Rae too i think.
Chea ended up marrying the broad tho. She even requested “Back Like That” to be played whilst she walked down the isle, probably thinking about how we took turns to run train. I didnt attend to avoid obvious awkward reasons.

Aw man. Freshness. I had this tape. Left it in an ex’s car. Had another copy that my boy lost. Always wished the banter was part of the freestyle. “That was an R&B Party, man, ya know”, “It was probably Reef”, “I don’t give a cotdamn who it was, I’m here now.” Hilarious. “I fucked up on one line, but it’s aight.” “Watch your mouth buddy.” Stretch & Bob were the best.

According to the lawsuit, the incident unfolded on June 17th in the city of Philadelphia, when Dr. Hill to produce his vehicle registration, to which Hill complied.
After questioning why he was being stopped, Officer Decoatsworth allegedly yanked Hill out of the car by his arm, pushed his fist into his back and asked Hill if he “could afford” his vehicle.
As this occurred, another unnamed officer searched through Hill’s vehicle without his consent.
Officer DeCoatsworth then told Hill to “get out of this neighborhood and go home” and never charged the professor with a crime.
Dr. Hill, who is a resident of Philadelphia, earned his P.H.D from the University of Pennsylvania. He claims the officers violated his First, Fourth and Fourteenth Amendment rights.

There is no album that has ever been made, where u can smoke some good weed and not see everything biggie is saying. When big tells a story that nigga goes into every detail…
That nigga rapped in a story to tell and that told the story of a story to tell in words and was it the exact same fcking story…
somebody’s gotta die

October 14th, 2010 at 7:22 pm
I think what Big created is a fucking masterpiece, cause from the last song on Ready To Die, he links right onto Life After Death, the concept is dope, and the face he died after stopped him from releasing any albums which fans argue are wack (aka Jay-Z and Vol 3 etc). So from a musical point of view, Big made his two concept albums and that’s it. And that concept to this day is still dope, and can never be touched.

I always though L made Jay-Z seem mad nervous and unsure in this freestyle session. Jay ain’t shit compared to L that night and it sounds like he knows it, he hadn’t really found his flow yet.
The crazy shit is to think that L was on the verge of signing to the Roc when he was shot in 99. Imagine, L with Jigga, Siegel, Cam at the height of the Roc! L over Just Blaze and Kanye’s early shit. DITC cats would’ve even been featured on L’s shit. AG or Finesse in the mix over there would’ve been crazy.
