Chiddy Bang – The Good Life (co-prod. Pharrell)

Honestly, nothing’s gonna top the Neptunes-produced/Pharrell-assisted/Lonnie-featured “Good Life” on T.I.’s KING, but I’ve liked most of the stuff I’ve heard from these guys so far. Off the Philly-duo’s pre-album release The Preview.

Props to SPIN, who has the story behind the song, the meaning of the term “swelly” [||], as well as details of the group’s intention of bringing in ?uestlove and Black Thought for their full-length debut album.

    Lupe is done… for real.

that nigga might as well try and elbow himself out of his contract

^ Yo, that’s something I was just thinking the other day as I listened to one of his Reasonable Doubt freestyles. Those mixtapes are still 3 steps of damn near everyone in the new school right now… even the ones whose music I like. Once this nigga started climbing mountains and shit I knew it was a wrap (actually, I knew it was a wrap when he started dissin’ ATCQ).

Being a devout Muslim in the industry must have been tearing him apart. But I do give him props for smashin’-n-dashin’ on That Chick from Har-lando. Best decision of his career.

But word to 456, if Kanye can get in his ear then a resurrection is certainly possible. And I honestly didn’t think “I’m Beaming” is a terrible record. Just not up to par.

^ Nah, that song was average for Lu, IMO. I like the song but remember that he’s not an underground artist anymore. Who in the hell was gonna play that song besides a pop Top 40 station? We hate to admit it, but you gotta give the label what they want in order to get you on radio. Sad reality when you sign to a major. Should’ve kept FNF underground longer. I never seen ANYTHING good coming from his Atlantic deal. Especially when that whole debacle happened between them and eskay.

The funniest thing about Lu IMO is that hella people diss him and feel a way about his career… but no one can shit on his MC skills.
