Video: Cam’ron Says Reunited Diplomats Have “Eight, Nine Songs Done”
Cam tells MTV that the reunited Dips have knocked out 8-9 songs, but stresses that they all have solo projects they’re obligated to turn in before really moving forward. As far as a new label home for The Dips, he says “there’s offers but the money’s not where we want it to be.”
There’s a strong undertone in the last 30 seconds of this interview…

Fat Joe not a Legend….whether was MC’ing, Producer, DJ’ing, A&R/ Label Executive power moves ….what did he contribute to Hip-Hop to warrant being called a “Legend”…Fat Joe is a underrated rapper that has not got the respect he deserve that it…but he not a fucking “Legend” G.T.F.O.H.

I just want to be real clear with why this diplomats reunion is so fucking whack…lemme break it down…here you go…so we all know our history about the diplomats being on roc-a-fella, cam developing an animosity toward jay (or vice-versa, or both, whatever)…then the Roc breaks up and Cam disses jay the most part because he’s dame’s boy, and jay was disloyal to dame…then cam disses 50…then beef is to much for his crew and they grow disloyal toward him…eventually cam and his crew get back together because their solo projects aren’t making them jack shit and their starting to suffer finanically…now i think jay is mad disloyal, but cam’s is a clown now and so are all of dipset, juelz is probably the most pathetic of them all, and jim is the most obvious about being a bitch…my bad…i just used to love the dips…now they suck

Fat Joe was a member of DITC. He gave the world Big Pun. Has several hits. An after damn near two decades in the game, he just dropped a GREAT album. How is he not a legend?

I could maybe buy the Fat Joe “The Legend” idea if people use the Latino rapper angle as being one, if not the first respected Latino rapper w/ being a member of Diggin In The Crates crew add discovering Big Pun into the equation….i can see why people see Joe in the Legend light…..however a Legend to me is someone who’s was tremendously gifted at his/her craft and influenced future generations…there’s alot of MCs who dropped great albums, who had hit records, who in 2010 are still in HipHop making music, a Legend is so much more than that….

and this is what happens when you ask for 3 mil in advances and budget and nobody is anywhere close to 1.5, good luck with the repo’s my dude’s,
HUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHH, Vado man

^ I agree as his Contribution as a Whole has been Legendary, from Signing the first Solo Latin Artist to go Platinum (and a Grammy Nomination), to lacing Premo beats for over 10 years, to doin’ tracks with the likes of Lord Finesse, Big L, etc. How ’bout Movies, Clothing Lines, TS Sneakers for under privilege Youth!?
…C’mon Son, Nov End, you’re Buggin’. He’s a CEO, and has maintained his Company for 10 Albums, has made Hit Singles, currently has Radio Play, and Video play on TV, even Khaled’s success can be contributed to Joe signing Talented individuals. We can talk Joe giving Biggie’s his first Show, we can talk the countless Producers from Storch to Cool & Dre who he helped propel. …I think even “Flow Joe” hit #1 on Rap Charts back then. Dude has been rapping for damn near 20 years and has remained Relevant to our Community; He is a Legend.

When i say makes the cut, that means just barely. He’s not a upper echelon legend like a Rakim, Krs, Cube, Chuck D…etc. He’s in the lower tier. But his impact is greater and he is better than some most would consider legends ie Eazy E, Too Short, E-40 to name a few.

@November there are not A LOT of rappers that have been as consistent as Fat Joe over the past 20 years, There just aren’t.
August 7th, 2010 at 1:03 am
a great part of hip hop history, yes.
a legend, no.
he found a legend.
August 7th, 2010 at 1:11 am
Speakin’ on Fat Joe:
MTV2′s Sucker Free Summit included people who are Highly Respected in the World of Hip-Hop including Bun B who is without a doubt a Legend. …so even by association, Fat Joe is of that Status, but because his Records Sales don’t transcend to Volumes, he’s just considered Underrated… Nah, I ain’t just Co-Signin’ that weak shit.
And why are people depicting a “Legend” solely off of Lyrics (ie: Pun, Biggie), and not Contribution to Hip-Hop as a Culture in more ways then one?

^^^^^^^
i won’t argue otherwise….in the early days of Hip-Hop where rappers wouldn’t be be around for very long…longevity was an accomplishment…however w/ technology over the last 10-12 yrs w/ Mixtapes, Internet, CD Burners, Blogs and anyone being able to put out music and it being heard….HipHop relevancy isn’t an accolade anymore…its just work ethic

At least juelz makes good music and dope features.

August 8th, 2010 at 9:14 am
I just hope those 8-9 songs wont have the same annoying araabmuzik beats that completely piss me off
August 8th, 2010 at 2:11 pm
beefing didnt breakup Dipset, Cam runnin when Jim got jumped fucked up Dipset. I feel they dont really have that charisma & its gonna show in how the albums put together. “Jim comes out…. we smoke…. bang the song out then do it again 4 days later”? “We go to Juelz studio, jim studio”? There like a family that beef with one another, its a forced relationship & the one benefitin from it is Vado & he aint nearly as nice as Juelz (Who’s bitter with Cam the most). Shit is sad cause they can achieve so much together but they have to hash out their bickering & hoe ass attitudes. Thats why New York will never reclaim the crown
