He picks good beats, has a nice nonchalant flow that’s works [ask Lil Wayne] and makes his lines sound better than they read. And his hooks are alright, too. But remember before the internet the anticipation was the best part about the album droppin’. If Jay Electronica was a Max B (one of my favorite artists) who could just drop a whole bunch of melodic hood shit on a few mixtapes before the album then I’d be a little impatient too. But based on the content of which he’s presenting you gotta give him a little time. I’d rather wait then have a rushed project of that caliber.

The waiting game didn’t actually kill JayE’s buzz. That subpar Ghost of Christopher Wallace track did. That was when people suddenly noticed that this guy’s actually not THAT great lyrically, he just has a GREAT delivery and some good beats. If that track were good, people would still be waiting.
I knew he was gonna flop as soon as people started making those [poorly thought out] Nas comparisons. Illmatic flopped.

Hip hop fans don;t just go on sites like this. Here Exhibit C and NC had similarly huge responses, but no mainstream music site mentioned Exhibit C [other than maybe Pitchfork]. It depends on your price range and commute. But to play it safe I would say Howard County. I don’t know all of the areas but Columbia is nice. It’s one of the wealthier counties in the country actually, not far behind from Montgomery. It’s definitely a good midway point between Bmore and DC.
