There are cats who are born gay, but, in the Black community, most of the gay males in this day and age are that way because of how they grew up:
-Never knew their dad.
-No male influence, nobody to watch shaving, nobody to watch to learn how to treat a woman/provide for a family.
-Very heavy female influence – lived with mom/aunties/grandma all in the same crib – watching hair get done, etc., not seeing any male “activities.”
The traditional Imams in Islam used to warn families about exposing their sons to heavy female influence. They used to tell families to let the boys hang out with the older men, to ride horses/hunt/shoot arrows/race/swim/etc. to build strength, understand how to be men, etc.
We have turned that on its head in the Black community. From birth, boys have to fend for themselves. No idea what it means to be a man. Then they become teenagers and become confused. Who am I? What am I made of? This is when you see cats start to act funny, starting to have “special male friends,” etc. They pretend to be a stereotype of what a man should be, but they’re pretending. Deep inside, they’re tortured, confused, unsure. They sleep with women and then take up the comfort of a man’s arms the next night.
Some people want to argue that it’s the same number of gays, but that gays can just come out now. HELLS NAW. That ignoring the plain truth: that men – not just Black men, but most men – have failed as leaders of the next generation of men, and the chickens are coming home to roost.
We created the problem. To say that we didn’t is burying your head in the fucking sand.
