1982-statik-selektah-termanology

This is some shit we knocked out last night under the influence of Ciroc & other substances. The 1982 album drops October 26th on Showoff/ST./Brick Records, however this is NOT on the album. This is just for the fans that have been waiting (and harassing us.) It’ll be on the FREEeP we are giving to anyone that sends us a copy/picture of the receipt from buying the album (when it drops.)

Drake PAPER Magazine Interview Outtakes (Avoiding The Internet, His Andre 3000 Shrine, Wants To Play Obama)

Monday, July 19th, 2010

PAPER Magazine (organizers of that infamous free Drake show) just put up outtakes from their cover story interview by Jozen Cummings.

On negative blog commenters:

I stopped going on a computer. I have a problem where if I go read a hundred positive things about me and there’s one guy in there who says ‘I hate Drake’ that’s the one I pay attention to. I think that’s a common problem. Negativity hurts us more than positivity helps us. I asked about 10 or 20 people around me, ‘When’s the last time you went on a website and commented on something, like a song dropped and you went on and said, ‘That song is hot’ or ‘That song is terrible?’ And everyone I asked around me, whose opinions I respect, the people I love, were like, ‘I’ve never done that before.’ And these are all level-headed, intelligent people whose opinion I respect, so I just started saying to myself, ‘It takes a certain type of individual to really participate in a group discussion about someone else, especially if they’re going super hard with consistent hate.

On playing Obama:

I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama’s life soon because I could play him. That’s the goal [laughs]. I watch all the addresses. Anytime I see him on TV, I don’t change Continue reading this post…

Shyne Covers XXL (September 2010)

Monday, July 19th, 2010

Po will split XXL’s September cover (their 13th Anniversary issue) with Young Jeezy. MTV has some excerpts from the cover story in which he discusses the infamous Club New York shooting and its aftermath.

Here he speaks on Puff distancing himself from the rapper and the situation during the criminal trial:

“You can always say, ‘Man, that ain’t the way to handle the situation,’ ” he told XXL. “Sure, I know in my soul that the situation was supposed to be handled in a different way. But it ain’t really a matter of disappointment or letdown, ’cause I never really … I grew up never having sh–, never having anybody. So I never was that dude to depend on a mother—-er. Obviously, the actions is not something that you condone or that you’re happy with. Not at all.”

Lindsay Lohan & KAWS Cover Complex

Monday, July 19th, 2010

Lindsay’s been on a rampage lately. So much so that after shooting this cover, she never even bothered to show up for the interview that was supposed to accompany it.

Rappers might be on that rock shit, but Linsay Lohan is on that rap shit. Flaking on interviews? Check. Unrepentant bad behaviour? Check. Gully enough to ignore a bench warrant, come back from Europe for a legal hearing, and have her court-supplied alcohol bracelet go off at the MTV Movie Awards? Check and mate. She’s Weezy, Yeezy, and motherfucking Jeezy all in one. Who else would choose her comeback vehicles to be Robert Rodriguez’s Machete and the Linda Lovelace biopic, Inferno? That’s gully on both counts. She may have been a Disney ingenue, but about five years ago she took a hard left, and we’ve been loving her for it—movies or no movies. So yea we’ve been angling to get her on the cover for a minute now. And when it happened? We’re about to remind people that they’ve been underestimating Lindsay. We’re about to ride out together, Bonnie and Clyde style. But some funny things happend on the way to making magic—and they reminded us that Lilo’s not lost, she’s just trying to hide from the vultures.

Oh well, I’m sure most of Complex’s demo would rather oggle her KAWS enhanced photos than read what she has to say anyway.

After the jump, check out some behind the scenes video from the shoot.
