PIC: Still From Kanye’s “Power” Video
The NY Times’ ArtsBeat blog got a early preview of the video for “Power”, which was created in collaboration with artist Marco Brambilla, and it sounds like it’s going to be a doozy.
In a coming video for his single “Power” that was created by the artist Marco Brambilla, Mr. West is seen standing imposingly with a heavy chain around his neck. As Mr. West raps the camera slowly zooms out in one continuous, unedited take to reveal him in a classical structure, surrounded by female attendants who are partly or entirely nude; some kneel before him on all fours, others wear devil horns and still others are suspended upside down from the ceiling. The Sword of Damocles hangs precariously over Mr. West’s head, and behind him an unseen executioner is preparing to strike him with a blade. (ArtsBeat was allowed to watch a portion of this video but was not permitted to post it.)

Famed “A Millie” producer Bangladesh has plans to record in the studio with Nas, and recently spoke on what the beat-making process was llike.
“I just do what I would like to hear from him,” explained the producer to SOHH.com. “I’m a super Nas fan. I’ve been a Nas fan since he came out. Since the first song.”
Bangladesh continued, explaining that he is seeking to lace the Queensbridge emceee with a more hardcore sound. “With me being a producer and me having my sound, I would like to hear him on harder beats, more 808-driven, just more aggression. With a Nas record, typically to me, the songs will make the track good. It’s not the track that makes the song good and that’s what I want to bring. I want to bring the track and the song so that you’re not only jamming to the beat with the words on it, but you can jam to the beat and the words and you can jam to the acapella with no beat to it.”

i worry also for the same reason as other people.
producers like Dre, PRemo, ALC (less so), well basically people who were around the same time as him, made beats for him before, etc… have provided nice beats, sometimes its been the “hot” producer of the last year or two who has made a beat that just wasnt for Nas. But hey, gotta use new and old cats, just make sure the beat fits.
oh and that Piano on Queens get the Money is crazy nice.

I’m a fan of Ye but some people take shit too far.
Oh and 5th album I’m guessing is coming sometime between September and October. GOOD Music day I doubt is happening.. Maybe Cons and Big Sean could put both there albums together (double disc type shit) and sell it for regular price. Usually Ye releases two or more videos and then the album comes out and that shit will probably be release last week of September or sometime in October but he probably has his whole plan.
I’m just hoping I won’t have to listen to the 2010 albums until the end of next year.
