Video: Shyne x Notorious B.I.G. x Bob Marley
Shyne is ready to get back in the spotlight and tomorrow XXLMag.com will be world premiering the formerly incarcerated MC’s new song, named after his South American homeland, “Belize”.
Featuring posthumous appearances from former Bad Boy label mate The Notorious B.I.G. and Bob Marley, “Belize” finds Shyne Po rhyming over a laid back sample of the reggae legend’s track, “Sun is Shining”.
Peep a sneak peek of the song above, which showcases Shyne rapping a verse from the track, straight from his native land.

mainstream media loved the Beatles and John Lennon facing a backlash over comments doesn’t really change that
============
nope. the people loved the Beatles and there was absolutely nothing that the media or Nixon could do to change that.
—————————————————–
No the closest thing the Beatles did you a song that caused controversy early in their careers was Please Please Me, and it didn’t get much flak. The Beatles were seriously considered a nice band, and in the early to mid 60s most already considered them the nice alternative to the Stones, who were considered the bad boys.
============================
Elvis was a notorious cokehead/pill-popping junky his entire career and died as such.
————————————–
Doesn’t change the fact that Nixon used him after he was widely accepted by the masses and was well past his prime. By then his original teenage fans were well into their adult years, much like the people who bought Recovery [excluding the very young kids].

So did Jay-Z apparently.

What happened with Jay?

I am a known Lu stan and I enjoy his music, but even I can’t front like I didn’t expect more from his career. Not that he should live by my expectations, but he was obviously set up to win and it does appear that was the original plan due to all the exposure he got at the start of his career.
I still think none of these dudes is fuckin with him lyrically and he aint really tryin.

Lupe is good, Lupe is winning, even when he doesn’t drop the “music he’s suppose to make” people still on his nuts, once again I repeat, he’s good and doesn’t care, he lives comfortably, or as comfortable as possible.
July 26th, 2010 at 3:50 pm
basically dude says lu is lazy and they all (his team and everyone in the industry) set Lu up to win which he didn’t really do. Lu was supposed to be on Wayne’s level of exposure and attention but he aint due to Lu’s own fear of failure/success
He says Lu wrote for the Black album (which we are all curious about what that means) and that Lu owes his fans and the people behind (past & present) more music and he needs to claim the “throne” like he was supposed to instead of making all this emo shit basically.
^
We will probably find out more about the Black album situation but yeah seriously this dude was supposed to be one of the top 5 in the last decade. F&L came out when rap was on life support and shit IMO was a C**ss*c. SMH after the Tribe VH1 Hip Hop Honors incident dude started falling off.

July 26th, 2010 at 3:50 pm
So Lupe wrote on the black album, allegedly? Interesting.
I don’t believe it. Something woulda come out wayyy before now. Wouldn’t have taken 7 or 8 years for that to come out.
Either way, after F&L came out, I was a definitely Lupe fan, but The Cool really disappointed me, and nothing I’ve heard since has really appealed to me. He’s got the talent, he’s got the ear for beats, but unless Atlantic is on some “Make southern Gucci Mane music NOW!” shit, dude just flat out went to Bonkersville.

judging by your previous comments on the Beatles, and more specifically by this statement, i’m convinced that you’re only aware of what’s regarded as “early Beatles” material. if this is true (which i’m pretty certain it is), then you should really do yourself a favor and go discover everything they released after “Revolver” (1967-70), and the social-political circumstances that these latter albums were released under.

Get back on the writing for the Black Album shit. Sounds like he accidentally said just that.
July 26th, 2010 at 3:52 pm
and if that’s really true, the no mixtape stuff because of a leak, then that’s fucking ridiculous. Lupe doesn’t have the cache to pull something like that. total lifetime sales of 750k mean fucking bupkiss. Sheeit, Paul Wall and Mike Jones sold more than that.
Ugh.
No homo.
July 26th, 2010 at 3:52 pm
I think it’s crazy to think Lupe doesn’t understand his situation, he’s not stupid, he knows who can go to get the radio play everyone else desires… BUT he obivously doesn’t want that, he wants to make the music he wants to make and he knows he will be living good off that, he doesn’t have to live up to that nigga’s expectations cuz he wishes Lupe was Jay and he was Kanye.. fuck outta here
July 26th, 2010 at 3:54 pm

you know how much things that could mean? Jay coulda had that dude in the studio writing a 100 verses in the HOPE of getting a feature…
lets be serious
July 26th, 2010 at 3:55 pm
Again, no way Lupe fuckin’ Fiasco is gonna be writing for Jay-Z for the black album. You’re telling me they wouldn’t sign KanYe West onnastremf of him producing hit records, but they’ll let some kid from Chicago ghostwrite for Jay-Z for his big comeback album?
Young Chris, I’d believe. One of the other dirty State P bums, I’d believe. Lupe? LOO-PAY? No. Possible? Sure, of course. PROBABLE? Fuck no.

No. Like ANYONE my age, I discovered the Beatles from Revolver and onward first, THEN the early Beatles. The first Beatles song I ever heard was Eleanor Rigby. And when I got serious with them, Revolver and Sgt. Peppers were the first albums I DLed.
Yes they courted controversy then. But that doesn’t discredit my point that the Beatles were accepted where Elvis was not. They were encouraged by the mainstream media when they first debuted, and it helped them get popular.
Kanye West has courted controversy later in his career, with his records. His last two records are much different than his first two. The comparison still stands.
