Cancelled my pre-order on this. Not sure why something seems missing from it, not convinced it’s on the same level as Rae’s sequel.
I’d rather put that pre-order money on Black Milk’s AOTY, pick up A.G.’s Berriville and look out for that U.N. related shit…

Besides, when was there ever a positive black male image? And who imagined him? After MLK?

There’s nothing positive about Scientology, politicians, or wealthy black preachers. Foh with that shit. Denzel gets a pass. Furthermore, I’m not a successful black male in any sort of spotlight, so I not sure what they’re supposed to do for me.

Actually it sounds pretty good, still only half way through. Better than hearing the short previews of each track…

Yeah we do have some positive black images out there, but, for every 1 there are about 10-20 dumb asses that aren’t. How many kids do you see quoting Waka Flaka? And how many of them even know about Dr. Eric Dyson or Dr. Cornell West? This shit still ain’t equal. Not by a long shot. I had a kid a couple years back tell me he had my 8th grade math book in class. I’ve was out of eighth 7 years when he told me that. Shit pissed me off. A lot of the knowledge isn’t there contrary to popular belief. A lot of people don’t own encyclopedias anymore and alot of black people don’t own computers. If they do, it’s a fraction that have Internet out of them. I’m not talking about us on here for obvious reasons but on the hood, it’s a different playing field.

I hear what you’re saying, and that’s cool. But I’ve always felt that too much emphasis was placed on role models in the black community. Role models turn into scape goats real quick when their humanity manifests itself. I’d rather teach a kid to search for the role model that already exists within himself.

he didn’t say Rae’s album was wack, he said the CNN album was not on OBFCLPTII’s level. so it’s actually a compliment. me personally? this CNN album bangs. great beats, features. and Nore goes in hard, his lyrical skills went through the roof for this album. anyone agree??
