    LOL @ a house being a good investment – sure, if your buying it for the STATED PURPOSE of flipping, and turning it over within a couple months, then sure.

    But if you BUY YOUR OWN HOUSE…lets say its $250k which is right around where Joey is looking at…with interest, you will pay $500k+ for that house over the course of the mortgage.

    Say after 15 years you want to sell. By that time, you’ve paid maybe $275,000 of that, with maybe $175,000 of that was interest.

    And now the house is worth $300,000 (wich is a 20% increase over 15 years…in-line with historical averages…particularly in New Jersey.

    Paying $175,000 in interest for $150,000 (gain in home value added to equity) is a good investment? No.
