When Chris said ” I know how it feels to wake up fucked up/Pockets broke as hell…” niggas knew he was rapping from a real situation. When William raps about “Noreiga owing him 100 favors,” that shit is fiction, and its not even believable fiction. Chris won because songs like “Story To Tell,” “Me and Bitch,” and “Everyday Struggle” were grounded in the realms of reality, no matter how much was imagined. William sounds like he watched Scarface and turned it off before he got locked up.
This nigga William is a cartoon character, and I have been listening to niggas talk about “I grew up on the crime side/the New Times Side/ Staying alive was no jive” too long to even take his music serious. Its not even entertaining to me, its simply grating to my sensabilities, and honestly, I just can’t relate to it.
