Lupe Fiasco feat. Bruno Mars – Nothin On You (Original)

I’m sure this was never supposed to be heard by the public and that’s exactly why I’m posting it. It’s the original version of “Nothin On You” before it was turned over to B.o.B. It’s ill how these hit songs get manufactured right? Sure, we know this happens all the time, but it’s always funny when these originals leak. It’s almost like this is Bruno Mars’ hit and they just needed someone to rap over it.*
Dre Edit: *Actually, that’s actually exactly what happened. Here’s what Bruno told Complex a few weeks ago.
So, Me, Phil & Ari [of Bruno's production crew, The Smeezingtons] did the track and we submitted it to Atlantic Records and they asked us, ‘What do you think about B.o.B on this?’ I was like, ‘Perfect, let’s see what happens.’

This song would NOT have been a Hit with Lupe on it hes monotone and boring as fuck….and anyways its not like without this song B.o.B. wouldnt have popped off cuz that Airplanes song is heating up like crazy and imo is much better than Nothin On You
June 19th, 2010 at 12:38 am
You can hear how much Lupe hates himself for rapping over this in his delivery.

Jay made throwbacks popular
^
nope. you’ve got to give that one to Fab if anybody. there’s barely any evidnence of this besides him rocking a North Carolina jersey in a video where he’s rapping about wearing a North Carolina jersey.
button-ups
^
i can begrudgingly give you this. cat’s have always worn a button-up to get extra fresh, but Jay did influence the inappropriate wearing of button-ups during his Black album phase.
this whole trend of rappers colaborating with these alternative musicians.
^
? Linkin Park & Coldplay? smh. i’ll be nice and say that there were a handfull of MC’s throughout the history of rap who have colaborated with alternative musicians and were pretty damn succesfull at doing so. Jay gets zero credit for this one.

B.O.B had the right energy to complete the track. It’s obvious that Bruno Mars needed a new energy to get exposure for the song and complete it.
In the same right B.O.B couldn’t pull off a lot of songs that Lupe came up with, it’s just there tone’s and rhyming patterns are far apart.

this shit would have flopped with lupe on it lol

Damn… We got some real DRAKE GROUPIES on this blog. “Do you fuqs just listen to music or u just skim through it?” – Jay-Z
Before you say a nigga dont spit about nothing, make sure your not judging your statement off one song.
Second off, this nigga VADO is 10x more LYRICAL then Drake or Lil Wayne. They are just better at making songs and singing then him.
3rd off, hop off Andre 3000 nuts! Just because lil Wayne and Drake are both currently sucking him off right now dont mean that you have to follow. 90% of you 1990 n ^ niggas couldn’t recite one 3 Stacks verse from the 90′s, much less understand it. Therefore you have no say…. Be you!

We have been wearing throw backs forever. Thanks to America for burning out our style.
Mitchell and Ness is in Philly.
They just finally blew up. I was taking in their as a kid in the 80′s. They been around forever.
Remember that was right around the time Jay was messing with Beans and State Prop.
