lol nah it’s deff not that cunt…some other Dj yellin cunt from a long line of Dj yellin fukin up mixtape cunts since 88
@ Mr Londoner Cannon you happy now fucker(doesnt wanna see pictures of cannons either)….bottom line fuck Don Kennedy & Don Cannon for fukin up my mixtape
Eminem if u reading this shit, stop doin interviews ya sound dumber the Ross right now…
sayin weezy and kanye would murder him, smh weezy has elementary lines(read them), its all about how he says things that makes it clever and i aint never heard Kanye drop a diss record, he’s not capable of dissin anyone and prolly wouldnt respond to Em
This song sounded really underwhelming when the radio rip came out, I thought it was because It was a radio rip. But now I have the CDQ and it’s still underwhelming.
*Goes back to listening to Waka Flocka, Soulja Boy, and Lil B – All I Know*
Slim sound like a real rehab patient apologizing for shit he had in mind to do…
^^^
niggas need to make music and leave it at that, honestly when he mentioned that shit on the cd i was skeptical and let it slide but now reaffirming his beliefs talkin that bs…he’s startin to annoy me talkin
This ain’t the final version though, shit isn’t mastered. But Jeezy can’t go with this as a single, shit’s an album filler at best. What happened to the Beyonce song?
i cant believe Who Dat actually got a music video…that is one weeeeeaak ass single, and i like J Cole (pause) but i jus dont think he’s marketable enough….he needs more fans
lmao…so i jus went bak and ATTEMPTED to listen to that Shyne song and that beat does sound like somethin that should be on Detox not that gangsta techno shit he’s tryin to create
but GAAAAAAT DAAAAM why Shyne sound like a muppet wit down syndrome?
i cant believe Who Dat actually got a music video…that is one weeeeeaak ass single, and i like J Cole (pause) but i jus dont think he’s marketable enough….he needs more fans
^ True that Who Dat is a great mixtape single but not for your fluckin’ debut! It’s was good for Drizzy for drop a album quick before the buzz continued on it’s decline but J. Cole should wait at less a couple more years to build up his fanbase and perfect his musical abilities
I’m saying though…Ross is the only commercial artist doing anything right.
^ Yep he is though that’s why I never hate on dude because at least he is giving what the people want and not throwing any kind of song out there because of who they are like Nicki Minaj azz (and what great ass it is tho) just because you kinda get a buzz don’t mean you drop shitbombs like Massive Attack

good morning nah. listening to Mobb Deeps murda muzik, track number 11 – where ya heart at. that track was used by a group back in the day before they used it… Think it was a group named the legion, anyone know of this?
my man came home after doing 13 joints, they shipped money off to his native country the minute he touched down, shits sad. Nigga got pictures of him in the bushes with a machette the size of bow wow.
^ the top 5 is so difficult to comprise, cause there are some nice niggas that do the mic shit. But up until he fucked with 50, his record was flawless… And if you really listen to some of the shit prodigy says, he was never really on that rah rah shit… just basically made it a point to say, if you fuck with him or his crew, they will retaliate ten fold. Plus that interview he did from the joint, gave me a whole new founded respect for the kid.
A 90’s prodigy would fit perfectly into that mixture. Niggas think i’m crazy when I say queens breed the best rappers ever, but am I lying? lol
^^
Me and Billz were chopping it up about this the other day. Queens wins. Run DMC and LL invented modern rap. That’s enough, but when you throw all those other cats in the mix, it becomes clear. Brooklyn comes close tho.
*daps all*
Oh yea, Joe, I saw your Facebook inquiry yesterday, I’m on there. Under my govt.
Niggas think i’m crazy when I say queens breed the best rappers ever, but am I lying? lol
^ you’re not lying 88. That whole era QB had the game on smiddash. They’re like Philly when it comes to Boxers… but right now I’d have to say Detroit now produces the best rappers.
I think the shit that made QB niggas stand out from other niggas, was everyone seemed to know each other, and their rhymes told vivid tales of their hoods, that most niggas could relate to.
Is it just me, or are people kinda over the CuDi thing? (no)
^^^

^This is what baltimoreans call a “chicken box” anyone that visits baltimore, i’ll take you to the best chicken spot ever. It’s funny that 92.Q had a contest on who has the best chicken boxes, and it was up northeast shopping center, where i’m from (northeast baltimore) and where I use to get my 5 wings no saltpepperketcup (c) billz. boxes from.
I went to philly (actually landcaster) and was shocked they served chicken boxes, ole biting ass niccas, lol j/k

I used to spend time every summer in North Philly as a kid, and they’re chicken boxes are dope. but they have regular fries, not Western, and that’s what gives Bmore the edge.
^ Don’t act like you don’t know about them philly cats. Them boys go hard (none). If I were a rapper the last niggas I would wanna battle is one of them philly cats.
ATL has alot of great rappers. I still don’t see how niggas sleep on the old T.I, like niggas don’t remember the vibe magazine cover when he was looked at as the down south jay-z, now who had that same name? T.I now is…………., but trap muzik is reasonable doubt from a different angle (n)
His fustrations with the rap game, his eagerness to jump back into the crack game, his honesty with his life, smh.
And yall niggas over rank Detroit. Black Milk is not that dope of an emcee. None of you even like Eminem, and gtfoh with that Royce shit.

lol i mentioned Em at LEAST 3 times in this post and Royce is nice lyrically…its jus too much of HIM is repetitive from the punchlines to subject matter (c) all them niggas in slaughterhouse

^that’s why there is no more classic albums, there’s no necessities or requirements to making a classic, ask niggas outside of nah, or someone outside of your circle, no shots, trap muzik is really a classic
but I was living what T.I was talking bout in 03′ so I feel differently about that album *shrugs shoulders*
^^
Cali has produced some amazing music. But amazing emcees? Ehhh….
Snoop had an otherworlldy flow when he first dropped (but that about it), Kurupt is from Philly, and Rass Kass couldnt rap on beat with a gun to his face.
Elzhi is dope as fuck, but I would hesitate to say he’s as nice as Lupe. In fact, I would just say that he’s not.
^ I was more talking about the movement as a whole, not pitting one mc against the next. Every area has a unique style off mc’ing and within that style the artist usually expands on. So we are talking styles, and I say Detroit style of mc’ing > Chicago. Simply because most them niggas in the D… rhyme whole bars, not just the last two words.

3 good singles? Check (even tho classic don’t need a single)
personal songs? Check (I still love you, I can’t quit)
Dope tracklist? Check
Can you listen to it all the way thru? Check
what else do you need for a modern classic? or a classic for that matter? I swear to the god in the sky trap muzik reminds me of reasonable doubt, I mean, i’m not the only person that thinks this, he was crowned the king of the south with his second effort.
^^
Em, hell nah. Red and Common were neck and neck, but during the 00s Red dropped Malpractice and Red Gone Wild. Common dropped Be. Com wins. Cube released three of the best hiphop LPs ever back to back to back, but his output post ’94 has been, well, pretty fucking awful.
Com’s catalogue is on par with the other 3, which still places him no lower than top 4. Electric Circus and the Neptunes produced one have both aged rather nicely.
if twista is on any list thats an automatic fail….
——–
how so? Twista pretty much took the whole double time flow style to the next level. Twista has never been wack: multisyallbic rhyme scheme, ability to switch up the flow…He doesn’t have the best ear for beats, but even the greatest have that same problem (see Nas)
I think a classic consist of said rapper bringing you into his world
And T.I did that with trap muzik, to each ya zone, but I literally fell in love with this cd. I mean, I couldn’t relate to a marine, unless he paints the perfect picture of being at war, or whatever he went thru, T.I drove me thru the A, riverdale, bowen homes, etc with that album
I know majority of nah niggas love that imaginary shit, but honesty is the best policy, and I felt that nigga (n) on trap muzik.
my bad for going ham this morning, i’m just doing my job
Twista’s got some good wordplay, the gimmick just gets old. I couldn’t listen to a whole album from him, but his singles/features could fill up a playlist.
That being said, I was listening to The College Dropout the other day, and Slow Jamz is still genius.

cosign tribe on the comment about Em’s catalog…he got 2 failure albums but so do most the greats.
—-
@ Joe88– Cosign, cuz listening to the albums in my formative years (bacdafucup, chronic, doggystyle, 36 chambers, black sunday, ready to die, no way out, harlem world), you really felt like you knew all about that world, what the artists were about. Sometimes it was entertaining, sometimes it was exciting, and sometimes it was scary as fuck (“wu tang choppin’ heads? OMG, they’re decapitating people??” #suburbs), but they took you places.
Now it’s: Girl song, club song, drug song, club song, crew song, et al
Even something like “Funkdafied”, you got a very, very good idea of what these artists were about and what their day-to-day lives were like for the most part, or what they maybe wished they could be…
I got that from KanYe, CuDi, & 50′s debuts, other folks (lupe, asher, drake), not so much.
But, that being said: Real Life Raps > Made Up Raps
But, that being said: Real Life Raps > Made Up Raps
^nope
^^
Made up raps are cool. As long as they’re consistent with the established worldview.
^^^
This, but I also have to be able to suspend disbelief. Rawse is entertaining, but knowing the truth kinda makes me go, “Um, okay…”
And to take it one step further to show I’m not just hating on The Now, when I listen to “No Way Out” or “Forever” and hear Puffy talking on Gun Busting I’m like “Dude, first, No, and 2nd, Jadakiss wrote that”, so it comes into play.
I’d rather have someone rap about real life to know I’m identifying with someone real, otherwise just put me in touch with your ghostwriter (no nr reg) and I’ll ask him how HE dealt with it.

^
i guess.. but the only thing consistent about the music and the listener… is the music… you dont know (and probably NEVER will) these niggas…
let the music be the music… i had the same issue for awhile about having to be able to “identify” with the music… what is this? you cant identify… it wont happen since you dont run in the same circles as these dudes… yeah i agree that music should affect you on some level but making that identification be a “must” might just sour the whole experience…
^That’s the past though…Lupe, Common, and Kanye are putting out bs right now…
^
Where’s that hot detroit music? I’m serious, I know you’re not talking about Bar Exam 3 or Recovery…
“My life a rollercoaster
and i’m starting to feel nautious
but the only thing i’m throwing up is my fingers when I arch em
three on the right hand
four on the left side
breed where the best died
a site you couldn’t visualize
Slaughterhouse is the greatest thing to happen in hip hop in a minute.
“They sound like one big cipher” Blah blah blah
That`s EXACTLY what I want to hear.Fuck that coke street rap shit.Only certain dudes pull that off well.
I want to hear dope emcees spitting lyrical bars!!!! Ortiz is the truth!! Royce is a beast!! Crooked is a mic terrorist!! Joey is that nigga you want to hate but the talent is there!!!
@ Remix– I can suspend disbelief and enjoy a “just for fun” song, even if it’s Awesomely Bad, but for me to connect with an artist and support their career monetarily, I have to care about them.
Like, I enjoy some Rawse/Khaled loud, boisterous songs, but I’ll never cop an album. Meanwhile, I’ll buy any project KanYe West or Joe Budden puts out (provided it’s not just a compilation where they’re only featured on 1 or 2 tracks) because I can relate to ‘em & they make music that has helped me get thru tough times.
So, it’s important for my wallet, but I can still enjoy a song even if I think the artist is full of shit.
@ OH4WERD– Forever had a few good songs, but the world was NOT feeling Puff around then, and when I finally heard the whole thing it was after the I Need A Girl’s came out and the backlash was over.. I was like “Um… k.”
Re: KanYe’s next album. Yeah, I’m kinda looking forward to it, I guess. Whatever.

I respect this because he’s not putting names he feels hes supposed to be putting…he’s putting HIS top 5.
So, it’s important for my wallet, but I can still enjoy a song even if I think the artist is full of shit.

them niggas have enough money…
maybe thats why my viewpoint is what it is… i dont pay for shit… lol.. i think the last album i purchased was kanyes when he went against 50..
i mean drake was in the ipod 2 1/2 weeks before it came out… BISD too… so then i dont have the “i spent 10 bucks for this shit?” when the album sucks…
^^^
*shrug* I spend money on the artists whose music I consistently enjoy. I haven’t been burned so far, but then again I only buy from certain artists because I enjoy the experience of it. Plus, stealing music is what fucked up the game first and foremost, no matter what people try to say. I can’t be with that. S’like saying “Man, I hate crackheads” but then mixing up your own rocks.

Pac was my favorite rapper from like 7th to 9th grade, then I started appreicating headphone beats and acute lyricism more, and claiming he was overrated became fashionable in most hiphop circles. But I gotta be honest, dude was dope. Not dope in the same way Jay or BIG is dope, but dope in a way that was completely unique to him. Also, arguably the best voice (ll) ever.
@ Remix– I get what you’re saying, but I swear there’s a difference. You’d have a point if I d/l’d Recovery, because I want to hear it and own it, not just hear what it sounds like.
If the only way I could’ve heard TML (which i strictly did to have an opinion on it) was by buying it, it wouldn’t have happened. If I could’ve found a stream, I’d have done it. People had the album online, I d/l’d it, that’s it.
Like, when Encore dropped I streamed it and then bought it cuz I was gonna buy it anyway.

Its just that alot of people disguise REgression by dressing it up as progression. And most people fall for it.

U ever have those days where u just feel uninspired??? Like WTF am I doing with my life and why?? like what’s my purpose??? Am I gonna leave this earth broke and pass debt onto my kids???
June 17th, 2010 at 10:53 am
well done
^
No surprise here.
====
What are you talking about? I’ve bought all of Jay’s albums!! Bought BP3 without downloading it. After BP3 I’ll be downloading any of his future projects first from now on though. Why should i give props to arguably his weakest effort? makes no sense.
The thing that fucks me up, is that Jay is all about progress, and he said his next album will be experimenting, so it might not be number one. Has he progressed to…Nas?

That’s when you gotta remember that you got kids to carry you, and you got a whoel life ahead, it may be diff but its more time.
be up, keep your mindate on the positive as much as you can, cuz the negatives comes too easy.
for real, just remember the last time you had peace, like a relaxing moment or some shit, i think of that when im bugging.
I don’t care what niggas say but for a rapper to have a number 1 hit record, at 40 (i don’t care why you niggas say it happened either) and to be going 2x plat at his age and in this climate, well being transcendent would be an understatement, and IMO that feat alone put him a trajectory toward a distinguished career. I call that progression.
Em being one of the greatest, if not THE greatest, RHYMER of all time, is separate from his content. He might be talking about some sick cracka shit, but he’s rhyming that sick cracka shit better than almost anyone has rhymed anything else ever.

This. Buckshot gets in the Hall of Fame, but not the GOAT list, if that makes any sense.

WEord, im not gonnna front, i aint listened to him since back when, dude has asolid flow, lyrics, not as repetitive as some would say Rae/Jada is, but for some reaosn i know what you mean. HOF, just not gOAT, and it aint even his fault, wild.

Don’t try to play me B, I’m practically the only nigga arguing and I’m making valid points. I guess the word progression is too subjective.

how u figure? And to everyone jay jas progressed as far as music goes i think alot of peopl are jus discontent with the output…regressin mean takin a step backwards and jay never truly did that, he upgraded from gunplay to dinner parties( not even tryin to be funny) same wit nas from street talk to knowledge.

If that’s your only rebuttal, then cool, but how can one take a blind eye to such a feat? It has to be duly noted, is all.

but it was irrefutably progression for his career and the rap world
^^
Whats that got to do with what you hear out your speakers though…?
^^^
There are different lenses that progression can be viewed from. His ability might not be the same, but records like doa, what we talkin bout, and the intro, A star is born, thank you (the best songs on the album aside from Empire state), is progressive content for him, and rap in general. This is of course aided by who he is and where he stands in the game.
BP3 went great for the first 2 or 3 spins, then not so much, but individually each song goes. People need time to let an album breathe and then go back to it sometimes.
>>I don’t care what niggas say but for a rapper to have a number 1 hit record, at 40
====
you make it sound like he ripped that album on his own. A. Keys, Kanye, Drake, Pharrell…etc. Jay’s name alone and features like that how could you not expect a number 1 hit record? GOAT career, but that album was ehh imo.
people want to talk about how he “fell off” or “sold out” or “regressed”
so, thinking critically… one would ask the question, “how is this so?”
then the problems begin.. because the answers are never logical… they are always emotional
because LOGICALLY… if a dude is making 11 number 1 albums.. no matter how you explain it away.. its a success…
all of this “you know the record company buys back the albums blah blah”… while its MIGHT be true.. doesnt account for ALL of the records sold
Couple this with the fact that jay has NEVER gone to jail for long periods of time (c) wayne or gucci OR takin LONG hiatus from the game (c) eminem has kept him on top… period
the FACT is that niggas cant stand it. I dont understand why not… but it is what it is…
Talk about the music on the CD, D Block…
^
FTR, when i made my intial statement regarding Young Jeezy still rapping about coke, i meant progression as in content. Like if Jeezy would start rapping about how his life has changed and what he does now, niggas wouldn’t like that and bash him for it. When you make a certain amount of money and attain a certain amount of success, your content changes…i view going from coke raps to rapping about vacations and how far you’ve come as progression. That’s what i was talking about. It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to know that Hov’s raps have regressed.
“Only rap about keys, how can you call yourself MC’s, think about the kids you mislead”
still Clipse is nasty. they got lyrics, metaphors, and flow. problem is they trying to make it (aka work with some Heroine headline features) and still rap about coke.
not malice tho, hes got that Religious change thing going.
Em being one of the greatest, if not THE greatest, RHYMER of all time, is separate from his content. He might be talking about some sick cracka shit, but he’s rhyming that sick cracka shit better than almost anyone has rhymed anything else ever.
^
I can dig that. But I don’t Eminems top 3 albums (whatever you consider them to be) Are better than a list of other rappers top 3 albums. For examples outside of Jay & Nas, Ghostface or Redman
Doc’s Da Name to Malpractice was REGRESSION
^
Again, i was talking about where rappers are in their lives, and how they have progressed in their lives is reflected in their musical content. We talking about different types of regression and progression.

yeah for real, they do say (even in the old songs, some) about the hardships and not do it. regardless, dont get it ttwisted, i used to be (and still am somewhat) a Clipse stan, maybe now a Clipse ST.. no an.
their small live shows are really good tho also getting P beats back then>

I said if Jeezy would stop talking about COKE then niggas would still wish he was. His content is contingent on his progression in his LIFE.

Oh, I concur.. I went off on twitter a while back pointing out that KanYe’s first 4 albums were all better track-for-track than Eminem’s, even tho’ Em is a better rapper/rhymer.
I’m just talking about his ability to take words and make them sound similar to each other. I get clowned for my classics portfolio, but I’ve listened to a shit ton of rappers in my life, and I haven’t heard anyone that makes words rhyme better than Eminem. Words, Sentences, Paragraphs.. The white boy does it almost perfectly, even if it’s in a stupid accent or it’s about his dad raping him (no)
therein lies the hate. a lot of these youngins don’t respect the basics in hip-hop anymore, let alone a middle aged black male who’s still good at rapping. lil
niggas egos take flight once they get an audience and they become isolated in thinkin that aint no one fuckin w/them due to said notoriety. then some of them want hov to be a certain way, spit a certain way, not be a trend/jetsetter.
but then when ol’ head wisdom leaks, and niggas get admonished, they regret being ignorant. ie. the game.
it’s envious jargon really. cause niggas tryna reign in how hip-hop should be never win or get the full experience of the culture cause they set in their musical IQs and won’t even attempt to develop these IQs, and hatin’ burns wyle mental energy.
If someone says an artist has progressed, I would just naturally assume you’re talking about said artist’s ARTISTRY. lol
^
Yeah Rigz, but i clearly didn’t allude to that when i first made the comment about if Jeezy stopped talking about Coke….either way we were talking about different things.

Biggie was in constant progression. Verse to verse.

i dont think that Jayz lyrical content has regressed… i think that that niggas lyrical content has SHIFTED to something OUTSIDE of what YOU want to hear… BUT those people filling up the stadiums DO like hearing it.. its called ADAPTING TO YOUR MAIN AUDIENCE and ANY speaker knows that you have to adapt ALL the time to make sure your speaking points are felt… so while those of us (no shots at all) that have not moved on or shifted our tastes for jays music might not be happy with it.. hes reaching and affecting a brand new audience… so yes the sound has shifted but hes still lyrically potent..
^word to this!
^
If you paid attention to what i initially said about Jeezy, then you would know about wasn’t talking about a rappers lyrical prowess diminishing or progressing.

real talk. niggas actin like just cause he rich he can’t get focused anymore and put a album full of ‘takeovas’ out there to shut niggas up. but thas hustlin backwards, why do that?
Fans and rappers relationships are like male and female relationships. However you begin a relationship is how most people expect you to remain throughout that relationship. So if you take chicks on first dates to dope restaurants, fly cars, shopping and shit…if you fall off…that bitch is gone.
Same wit rappers and fans. Rappers change their content they lose some fans because their fans ain’t growing/declining (cause all these niggaz aren’t really progressing) with em.
so you just comment purely for the sake of commenting, b/c clearly you have nothing of any reasonable substance to contribute
^^^
i mean honestly everything i could say has already been said, Em lyrically on all technical aspects for crafting verses is better than the aforemntioned artists you mentioned
If anyone cant see the similarities in Hard Knock Life & BP3, then I just dont know…
^
My nigga, to sum this all up, the feat Hov accomplished with BP3 is perceived as progression in my eyes, period. You know I’m a rap guy and not a sales guy but it doesn’t change the fact that what he did was remarkable and again i view that as progression. That’s all.
^ i look at it more like shifting away from downloaders. its all about knowing who’s going to go out and buy your CD. word to BEP. downloading has changed the way people are making music now.
And as far as artistry goes, i feel KC and AG were a regression from anything pre-Black Album and BP3 was a progression from KC and AG…just my opinion.
And as far as artistry goes, i feel KC and AG were a regression from anything pre-Black Album and BP3 was a progression from KC and AG…just my opinion.
^^^
I agree with this… Although I respect how slick Jay was in pulling off both of those pimp moves with KC & AG, the actual product was much weaker… BP3 was a step in the right direction compared to both of those albums
I hate the Staples Centre
I dislike Odom
I dont like Gaysol
But the Most I despise Lakers fans, I need to see dreams crushed tonight. I need Kobe to go on a rant again and demand to be traded this summer.
The funny part is I dont like Boston just as much, but its picking the lesser of two evils.

Me and Billz were chopping it up about this the other day. Queens wins. Run DMC and LL invented modern rap. That’s enough, but when you throw all those other cats in the mix, it becomes clear. Brooklyn comes close tho.

3 good singles? Check (even tho classic don’t need a single)
personal songs? Check (I still love you, I can’t quit)
Dope tracklist? Check
Can you listen to it all the way thru? Check
what else do you need for a modern classic? or a classic for that matter? I swear to the god in the sky trap muzik reminds me of reasonable doubt, I mean, i’m not the only person that thinks this, he was crowned the king of the south with his second effort.
where’s shante when you need her? lol

Emphatic co-sign. Its all about establishing a worldview that is unique to yourself as an artist. That’s what makes greats.

But, that being said: Real Life Raps > Made Up Raps

i guess.. but the only thing consistent about the music and the listener… is the music… you dont know (and probably NEVER will) these niggas…
let the music be the music… i had the same issue for awhile about having to be able to “identify” with the music… what is this? you cant identify… it wont happen since you dont run in the same circles as these dudes… yeah i agree that music should affect you on some level but making that identification be a “must” might just sour the whole experience…

So, it’s important for my wallet, but I can still enjoy a song even if I think the artist is full of shit.

them niggas have enough money…
maybe thats why my viewpoint is what it is… i dont pay for shit… lol.. i think the last album i purchased was kanyes when he went against 50..
i mean drake was in the ipod 2 1/2 weeks before it came out… BISD too… so then i dont have the “i spent 10 bucks for this shit?” when the album sucks…
^^^
*shrug* I spend money on the artists whose music I consistently enjoy. I haven’t been burned so far, but then again I only buy from certain artists because I enjoy the experience of it.
Bah, got me in knots. Fuck your dad’s mouth, Remix. lol..

June 17th, 2010 at 11:09 am
BP3 went great for the first 2 or 3 spins, then not so much, but individually each song goes. People need time to let an album breathe and then go back to it sometimes.

you make it sound like he ripped that album on his own. A. Keys, Kanye, Drake, Pharrell…etc. Jay’s name alone and features like that how could you not expect a number 1 hit record? GOAT career, but that album was ehh imo.
June 17th, 2010 at 11:09 am
Once again.. the infamous JayZ arguement…
the conundrum is this:
people want to talk about how he “fell off” or “sold out” or “regressed”
so, thinking critically… one would ask the question, “how is this so?”
then the problems begin.. because the answers are never logical… they are always emotional
because LOGICALLY… if a dude is making 11 number 1 albums.. no matter how you explain it away.. its a success…
all of this “you know the record company buys back the albums blah blah”… while its MIGHT be true.. doesnt account for ALL of the records sold
Couple this with the fact that jay has NEVER gone to jail for long periods of time (c) wayne or gucci OR takin LONG hiatus from the game (c) eminem has kept him on top… period
the FACT is that niggas cant stand it. I dont understand why not… but it is what it is…
June 17th, 2010 at 11:09 am
Talk about the music on the CD, D Block…

FTR, when i made my intial statement regarding Young Jeezy still rapping about coke, i meant progression as in content. Like if Jeezy would start rapping about how his life has changed and what he does now, niggas wouldn’t like that and bash him for it. When you make a certain amount of money and attain a certain amount of success, your content changes…i view going from coke raps to rapping about vacations and how far you’ve come as progression. That’s what i was talking about. It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to know that Hov’s raps have regressed.

^^^
Oh, I concur.. I went off on twitter a while back pointing out that KanYe’s first 4 albums were all better track-for-track than Eminem’s, even tho’ Em is a better rapper/rhymer.
I’m just talking about his ability to take words and make them sound similar to each other. I get clowned for my classics portfolio, but I’ve listened to a shit ton of rappers in my life, and I haven’t heard anyone that makes words rhyme better than Eminem. Words, Sentences, Paragraphs.. The white boy does it almost perfectly, even if it’s in a stupid accent or it’s about his dad raping him (no)

a rapper to have a number 1 hit record, at 40
^
therein lies the hate. a lot of these youngins don’t respect the basics in hip-hop anymore, let alone a middle aged black male who’s still good at rapping. lil
niggas egos take flight once they get an audience and they become isolated in thinkin that aint no one fuckin w/them due to said notoriety. then some of them want hov to be a certain way, spit a certain way, not be a trend/jetsetter.
but then when ol’ head wisdom leaks, and niggas get admonished, they regret being ignorant. ie. the game.
it’s envious jargon really. cause niggas tryna reign in how hip-hop should be never win or get the full experience of the culture cause they set in their musical IQs and won’t even attempt to develop these IQs, and hatin’ burns wyle mental energy.

i dont think that Jayz lyrical content has regressed… i think that that niggas lyrical content has SHIFTED to something OUTSIDE of what YOU want to hear… BUT those people filling up the stadiums DO like hearing it.. its called ADAPTING TO YOUR MAIN AUDIENCE and ANY speaker knows that you have to adapt ALL the time to make sure your speaking points are felt… so while those of us (no shots at all) that have not moved on or shifted our tastes for jays music might not be happy with it.. hes reaching and affecting a brand new audience… so yes the sound has shifted but hes still lyrically potent..
