AG > BP3.
^
agreed. its like he was thinkin, “lemme remind these mahfukas where i’m from before i really go uber-pop. (light bulb effect) oh shit, American Gangster! i gotta holla at denzel and dem.
(phone rings)
yo.”
“yo its puff nigga, you gotta hear these soul tracks i put together w/the old squad!”
hov: “yea i just came up w/a ill marketing plan for my next album. i’ll be over ASAP.”
*hangs up, calls denzel*
“ay denz, you did the damn thing in that flick and the screening was excellent. lemme run a project idea i’ve been working on past you.”

AG was a return to extraordinary lyricism from Jay
^
C’mon Rey, being hyperbolic FTL. Oh and how can i forget my EMPHATIC no-sign.
AG was chalked with lackluster flows and dusty beats (with the exception of Say Hello, Success & Fallin’)…i didn’t count Ignorant Shit because thats a Black Album era song.
^^^
Not trying to be hyperbolic, but compare the lyricism from KC to AG, and from AG to BP3.. Out of those 3 albums, AG was the High Watermark. And the production on AG was better than like 10 of the songs on BP3 and all but 2 of the songs on KC.
^^
In a vacuum this argument may work, but compared to all of the Camel’s other albums, all three you just mentioned were pretty shitty. KC was a self-absorbed mess of a comeback album, AG was a pseudo- “concept” album/attempt to return to his roots which, as D Block pointed out, was terrible aside from about 3-4 songs, and BP3 has pretty much be exposed as a shittier version of KC (the KC he probably wanted to make, in all honesty)– a perfect storm of circumstances prevented that album from being coaster status right at release- The Yankee’s winning the WS, Empire State of Mind, Kanye Shitting on him on Run This Town, and The Camel’s ability to ride other artist’s buzz while masking his slowly declining rapping ability.

After extensive research, I’ve come to the conclusion that “Grindin” by the Clipse is the GOAT coke rap song.

Possibly. But TM 101 gotta be the GOAT coke rap album.
^^^^
nah, i’m still leaning towards Lord Willin’ simply for Pusha’s (or Malice? these niggas sound alike) verse on I’m Not You
Rappers is talking to me as if We in the same boat
I tell them quick no I move Coke
And you and I don’t share no common bond,
So forgive me if I don’t recieve you with open arms
It shames me to no end,
To feed poison to those who could very well be my kin
But where there’s demand, someone will supply
So I feed them their needs at the same time cry
Yes it pains me to see them need this
All of them lost souls and I’m their Jesus
Deepest regret and sympathy to the street
I seen them pay for they fix when they kids couldn’t eat
And with this in mind, I still didn’t quit
And that’s how I know, that I aint shit (I aint shit)
My heart bleed but that’s aside from the fact,
I live for my kids and theirs and them youngins after that
that shit touches my heart to this day b

AG was Hov’s pimp move off of the movie! True Story… If there was no AG movie, no AG album… Gotta respect that from a business standpoint on his part… Production was by far the highlight of that album, and lyrically it was good, not very creative at all, than again when is Hov been known for being creative
