If pac and big were still alive, they would be washed up and dropping wack unrelevant albums. (see : rakim)
the fact that they died in their primes makes it seem different..

Or stayed living in the past, like rakim etc.

Ya’ll really don’t listen to pac do ya’ll? Pac music carries on today cause it wasn’t made for mainstream, how many times have niggas listen to hypnotized? Pac has songs for days then, so image (going by his track record after he was released from prison) his career would’ve been longer than niggas thought
the idea of a nigga staying in the same position (n) “musically” when the times change is plain dumb, for both biggie & pac, but pac proved that his music is timeless, so what makes u think he would even do those things?
Cause Jay did it? LOL
Niggas is straight psychics round here, tell me what the winning lottery # is?

As far as beat making goes
Ghost writer >
*straight face*
I swear this nigga re-made the “this is ur life” instrumental and sent it to me last night (pause) and i’m speechless. That’s the last song i’m letting go before i drop the album/mixtape. Ghost needs excecutive rights over this album, cause he got more than 5 slots (n) on it, my in house producers are gonna be heated when it drop, lol.
June 13th, 2010 at 10:33 am
So far, my best music imo was with ghost, so I got a feeling that this project i’m working on is gonna be something like a classic.
Aye Ghost, I told U I got u nigga!!!!!!! Let’s get it (c) Broadway
Niggas give there intrumentals out to the public on nah, but only me and my cousin delivered (c) Kay Trill “Allure” (over joey profits beat) I can just imagine what a brian ennals track would sound like over a ghost producing. Shout out to that nigga (no exhibit nah feature) i’m in music mode right now, literally, lol.

>>biggie always had the killer flow, which transcends eras…
^So does ludacris, now i’m not comparing them, but flow only goes so far w/o some type of concept. If u think biggie flow would keep him above water then………………
>tupac was mostly image, no real lyrical craftsmanship … images fade…
^things like this only holds weight on nah right. as far as the real world goes, image carries on waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay longer than a flow does. (c) Gucci mane killing people.

You can tell who actually listen to pac and who goes off his mainstream catalog.
June 13th, 2010 at 10:55 am
Does niggas listen to Nas because of his flow or because of his message?
June 13th, 2010 at 10:55 am
If they were both still alive, Biggie would still be relavent and Pac would still be wearing leather vests and nose rings like thats what’s up
June 13th, 2010 at 10:59 am
If they were alive
big>pac
let’s be serious for a second here…
Pac wasn’t half the Rapper big was as far as bars/metaphors etc.
And no one before or since can ride the beat like biggie.
No one. I think if they were alive, Pac would be would be like snoop (respected as an og, but rarely taken seriously musically) and big would be like jayz.. Still relevant.. Still making hits, but blog commentors would be shitting on him
June 13th, 2010 at 11:00 am

both, of course … are you kiddin?… that was easy…
nas flow, delivery, wordplay, lyricism, and everything else u can grade an mc on, is far superior to tupac… you picked the wrong mc to use as an example… nas flow was impeccable …
you shoulda said DMX or someone else…
not Nas

June 13th, 2010 at 11:24 am
(n) Now to say that pac would be irelevant and biggie wouldn’t be is kinda, almost, STUPID.
We have Jay-Z now, a perfect fill in for biggie
who was pac’s fill in? (n) The things that biggie did was remarkabale, but was done over and better, who has done anything close to what pac accomplished? Don’t worry, i’ll wait.
it’s deeper than making words rhyme, who was on a bigger plateau, and sent a message in his music?
Don’t worry, i’ll wait
so to say what either would be doing right now sounds…………..DUMB

^No. The “Make Room” joint was something I came up with on the spot, the “call me” song was also produced by ghost, but I forgot to put his credit on it, but it might get on the mixtape. Out of all the songs, I think “gangster music” is the best so far.

They would probably BOTH still be relevant, depending on if they continued to put out music, because the “landscape” of hip hop WOULDN’T be like it is now.
A lot of times the “landscape” changes simply because of an artists’ inactivity. Example….If the Fugee’s, and more specifically Lauryn Hill, would have kept making music things would be different. If Eminem (who I have never liked btw) would have kept making music, things would be different. Not necessarily in a GOOD way, but different.
Artists take these “breaks” from making music. Which then allows the “landscape” to change and when they return they’re no longer relevant. If you’re NOT influencing the environment (by putting out music) then it may go in a direction that’s NOT beneficial to you. Kinda like when someone was “The Man” on the streets hustling…they do a long bid…then come home and are no longer relevant in the streets.

So who won more? cudi or drake??
In the short term…obviously Drake
But in the long term…I think Cudi
I feel like more people are anticipating Cudi’s next album that they will Drake’s
Cudis sound is consistent and he has his target audience in the palm of his hand. Its not played and people just kinda take him for what he is (ie. average rapper, decent albums, capable of dropping hits). Cudi has left alot to be waited for (eg. tracks produced by big producers such as Timbaland…collabs with artists such as em, kanye etc)
Drakes sound is getting boring, and its kinda played (especially the reflective singing over 40s beats). Drake has left nothing to be waited for (we already heard him rap with EVERYBODY…and hes already worked with any producer worth working for). its more like drake put everything into TML and left nothing for subsequent albums.
The whole Young Money/ Minaj/ Wayne thing is gonna be played out soon…Wayne and Drake will stay, and Minaj might linger around for a couple years….but the rest will go..Where as Kanye/Good music are more of a permanent mark rather than a hype.

the change in music is a reflection of alot of things.
as technology improves, and things become more computer based (most producers work on fruity loops now etc)…shit becomes more electronic….
as western culture becomes more club orentated..therefore the demand for that type of music increases etc. the lines between genres has faded (eg. drake)…does r and b even exist anymore?

music was always headed in this direction, its HILARIOUS if u think the death of a single rapper made it like this. lmao
^^^ one single man can effect history in many different…ways ur speaking on the evolution or de evolution of music….music has its ebbs and flows…those dudes where at the top when the died if they would have lived they would have been relevant for at least five years…that means there would been no room for alot of rappers..thats just the nature of the game..

Kinda like when someone was “The Man” on the streets hustling…they do a long bid…then come home and are no longer relevant in the streets.

smh. celts got the best record on the road. they only need one. it won’t be easy for the lakeshow. celts don’t take em in 6 believe 7 will be the fight of kobes life.
June 13th, 2010 at 11:27 pm
I don’t think it will be too easy for the Celts in LA, refs and the fact that it’s still the road, but if they keep playing like they have been without some of the off-shooting, then LA gonna have some trouble.
I still say it’s Celtics in 6 (this was my original non-homer prediction).

Trevor Ariza > Ron Artest
Trevor is a better 3 point shooter, better rebounder, arguably better defensive player (all those fourth quarter steals were clutch in last year’s playoffs), he was a better dunker, and an atleast 75% free throws shooter.
