Audio: Sheek Louch Talks About Notating Flows
In another excerpt from the interviews from the How To Rap book, Sheek talks about how he makes notations throughout his rhyme notes so he knows when to pause, put emphasis, etc. when he’s recording. You mean there’s still a rapper who writes shit down? Who knew.

To be in the top 10, you HAVE to have lyrical ability. doesnt mean yo need to be all complex and shit, but you need some lyrics mannn.
Yeah for real Kool G Rap is SOOOO NICE.

I do some of the same things too. I’ve been doing that for so long I know when I got 16 bars written on paper. I’ma take a few notes, like the pause/double this line, etc that really helps alot when you write something at home, then days or weeks later you finally get to lay it down.

I saw a book written already about this with Nas and other lyrical rappers as the focus. looked pretty good, i didnt buy it since it was 15-20. looked just as good.

ATLiens & Aquemini are both undeniably incredible LPs….you usually begin your OutKast rants by mocking “Hey Ya” (deservedly so) but you selectively ignore the 4 LPs before Speakerboxx/LoveBelow that most Kast fans co-sign as their best work
