No sign. RnB hook features dont really “count”
So you figure taking Dream and Keys out thats 9 tracks out of 14 or 65% of the album of straight him.
Jays first album had MJB, Bleek, BIG, Mecca, Jaz-o, Sauce Money, and Foxy!
with the same formula jay had features on 65% of his album (subtractin MJB and Mecca for singin)
So what is it really?

Drake won’t jump on just anybody’s song for a guest appearance, and he also won’t accept just anybody’s verses for his upcoming debut, Thank Me Later. The 23-year-old MC said his collaborators have to fit into his musical plan.
“I really don’t bank on collaborations unless it makes sense,” Drake said recently in Toronto. “If I get people’s verses back and they don’t coincide with the vision I have, I’ll do the whole album by myself. I’m not really worried about the special guests. It’s about linking to me and my story. There’s people that just add to my story.”

Drake’s a bigger sell than most of his features at this point. Swizz Beatz, TI, Jeezy, Minaj, The-Dream, etc. Drake’s bigger than those guys. He wouldn’t flop if those guys weren’t on.

Basically.
He doesn’t need those features to sell albums.

@ land:
Although he was known for his remarkable live performances, Big Pun’s mobility was increasingly limited by his weight. “Given his size, Pun’s performance is filled with suspense,” critic Rob Marriot wrote in the Village Voice. The hot lights and physical stage show clearly tested the rapper’s stamina. Still, Marriot continued, “Big Pun even outshone the headliners.” He and Fat Joe rap on Jennifer Lopez’s hit “Feelin’ So Good,” and were scheduled to appear with her on Saturday Night Live on February 5, 2000, but Big Pun was unable to make it. It was rumored that, during recording for his upcoming album, Yeeeah Baby, a mattress had to be brought into the recording studio for Pun to rest on while he rapped.

Last night (May 19th), Queial of Da Congressmen addressed allegations that have been rampantly spreading across the net, concerning recent altercations with rappers Waka Flocka and Gucci Mane.
Queial, who hails from Atlanta’s Zone 1 on the West Side, is the cousin of rapper Slick Pulla, who has a long running feud Waka Flocka.
A video of the confrontation hit various Hip-Hop websites yesterday as Gucci Mane attempted to shoot a video.
The Congressmen are signed to Prestige Entertainment, Slick Pulla’s imprint.
The group consists of Queail Nitty, John Doe, Juan Don, Lil Buss It, Hood Rich, Card, Brown Tone, Juve the Young Kiddy, Joe Chinks and TLT Grip Set.
Queail denied reports that Da Congressman were Crips.
“Not down with no Crip, Not down with no Blood, not affiliated with none of them, but I can say I f**k with everybody,” Queail told AllHipHop.com.
According to Queail, the problem with Waka started because “Waka is not from the ATL period, he’s from the country outside of Monroe.”
When asked if they were among the group of men involved in an altercation with Waka Flocka in Atlanta in the clothing store in March, Queail declined to say, due to legal implications.
“This has nothing to Jeezy, Gucci Mane or none of that s**t. Gucci and Jeezy don’t know nothing about that s**t, don’t wanna know nothing about that s**t,” Queail told AllHipHop.com. “Gucci and Jeezy did they own thang, more power to them. This isn’t about Waka Flocka or none of that. First of all I smashed Waka Flocka for a reason, ya feel me, and that reason was in the streets.”

I wanted to like that song but I can’t. He’s doing a Timbaland impression over a beat that sounds 2 years old.
Diddy albums:
NWO = Classic, duh
Forever = Identity Crisis.. Tried too hard to be shiny suit Puff Daddy while dipping into Master P territory.. Satisfy You was good, and he had some good features, but overall it should’ve been called “Trying Too Hard” (nh)
Saga Continues = album was 25 tracks of bad production (album came out just as the shitty production era was over so he got stuck with some awful beats) and weed carriers (bristal? kane? ‘the fuck?).. still had about 5-6 good songs (BBFL, Diddy, Let’s Get It, Original INAG–lol–That’s Crazy, Title Track, Where’s Sean).. But I don’t think I’ve ever listened to this album in its entirety in one sitting.
Press Play = Kinda awesome. First half is awesome go timey clubby music, second half was this cool emo love rap (his ghostwriters were in top form, his delivery was on point) story.. 2nd to last song was ghostwritten by Rick Ross and produced by Pharrell, so I’ll let you guess how that one was, last song had a ridiculously good beat and a feature by MJB..
Last Train = BEP’s last album mixed with Timbaland. No thank you, Sean.

Looking at this tracklisting, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that this album will have no substance to it… The track titles tell the story, it’s gonna be some party tracks, chic tracks, bragga tracks, and thats about it…
= Fail!!!
It will sell Units off the strength of the females, however it won’t have a lasting impact, and the pressure will be on him for his 2nd album

Although I don’t have any faith whatsoever in this dude (/ this album), I’ll actually give it a listen and I gotta admit is good to see a good number of solo songs.
If he’s that good, solo songs are a great way for him to prove it.

I don’t know any one that’s heard or even knows any Drake songs besides the ones on t.v. and the radio. But this shit really gets debated here all day. No one knows J Cole either.

Saga Continues = album was 25 tracks of bad production

That album gets slept on. There were some joints on there.
And Mys looks like a front runner fucking with Game.
I understand he’s gotta get his money but Game is just using him as a credible face for a bunch of lame ass rappers.

Cosign, but the beats were not good.. I would only say I genuinely liked maybe 3 or 4, the rest were just off, and wayyy too many weed carriers, but there were definitely some good songs on that. I pay attention to lyrics more now so I might have to go back.

niccas is so bullheaded that they’ll secretly listen to shit in the car and on their iPhones like some PUSSIES but won’t even admit they like it. that’s how it’s gonna be with this new drizzy. everyone’s gonna love it, but only some will admit it.

for all u stupid niccas who think drake isn’t gonna go multi-plat, bear in mind that SFG was released with like 6 songs it that had already been released, plus one bonus cut (that was already freely available too), AND THE SHIT SOLD OVER 450,000
so you’re telling me that TML – a real album that hasn’t leaked yet – is gonna sell less?

Yup. But at least from my observation on blog rap fans… IRL guys aren’t ashamed to like Drake’s music.

I can’t see anyone getting past this point to argue against Drake going multi-plat. Dude clearly has some dedicated fans who WANT to pay for his stuff.
This isn’t the same kind of hype Wale and as of recently, the Clipse had. Drake has fans who comment on MTV.com news articles…those kids pay.

This appears to be a very dope (commercially ready) album, and it will go platinum, rather or not it does in a week, like Wayne, is debatable, possible, but unlikely. It will prolly go gold in the first week. IDK abt this tracklist though, it very well could be real, but somethings don’t seem right about it. That T.I./Swizz beats collabo, seems very out of the blue, also I thought Francis & The Lights were 2 be featured on the album, whatever. I won’t be surprised if a real tracklist leaks out, but then again, I won’t be surprised if this is the tracklist either though.

It’s the real tracklist & producer cred, it came from AllThingsFresh, drakes “official fan site”… And Francis & The Lights ARE on the album, look… they produced Karaoke.
