^yeah, thats opium. I wouldn’t put it on the same plane as coke or heroin, but just like all drugs when abused it can be devestating.
I don’t think you could OD by smoking opium…so its more like marijuana in that context.

May 17th, 2010 at 4:13 pm
not sure if i agree with all the Puffy sentiments. i disagree that he’s actually making great musical strides. it’s just that the rap industry as a whole has greatly sacrificed high quality music for a more significant bottom line. Puffy is getting his Hitler on right now. and by that i mean that Hitler was simply a man who capitalized on the shittiest period in modern German history. if German society managed to maintain a semblance of a normal quality of life after WW1, then Hitler would NEVER have flourished the way he did. fact. Hitler didn’t just magically appear. he was around for years before during Germany’s “better” sociopolitical days, but was considered nothing more than a pest/joke by his own government and society. after WW1, the German people became more desperate and destitute than a thousand Somolias. Puffy, like Hitler, just managed to hang around for years until things got real shitty(musically). i can’t really respect that.

MAKING PERSONAL FINANCE A REQUIRED CLASS IN HIGH SCHOOL OR EARLIER.
This would help educate those on money handling. essentially, evenf or the kids in class who dont care, they wanna know about making money/starting busienss or some shit, so you can make it appealing. do a couple lessons on bank shit/regular financial life events (renting apt, going to schooll, etc…) and it will help.
but hey this is just me.
oh and if Welfare is used properly by even 10% of the people its given to, its worth it. those people have a better life and earned it. Plus, without welfare, it would just go to more waste in the budget (aka bllshit)

which is way more advanced than ANYTHING that the Iraqis and Afganis are using. again, Americans really need to stop acting like this is 1956. our current military might is not what it was 50+ years ago. we are getting destroyed by cellphones, boxcutters, plastic explosives, and pure unrivalled ingeniuity.

China’s economy is 99.9% dependent on the US consumer.
If they were to ever make a false step that caused the US to place an embargo on their goods, or an extremely high tariff, their economy would be CRIPPLED.

and this is really what it boils down to… China has been able to have the financial success that they have in the past decade or two simply becuase they have little to no regulation in labor laws, manufacturing pollution, etc

^”destroyed” ? hardly. Their can only tag us lightly with the IEDs, and thats because we are in their turf. If we wanted to fuck China up, we’d smash them with missiles launched from boats that they’d have zero defense for.
We could pulverize any country we wanted back to the stone age, without ever setting foot in their country.

^I, too, agree with this. But guess what, if they did that, do you really think kids would apply and attend big time universities to which they would have to take out huge loans to afford, or sign up for credit cards just so they can get a free t-shirt and frisbee at spring break. This economy strives on loans. They need people to be in debt so that the $2000 50 inch plasma you put on your card, actually cost $33oo in interests and fees when you can’t pay on time or only pay the minimum balance.

Multi-national corporations business models maybe the end of individuality as we know it, some time down the line. When everyone is buying the same thing at the same time the world over, for everything. Welcome a brave new world. This isn’t so far off either.

I agree and undersstand that a portion (large prob) of our economy comes from fines/pen/interest. kids will still make those mistakes, maybe not as often, and as were seeing now, change one penatly/fine for the banking industry, they’ll chargee you more elsewhere.
Kids will go to college to learn MORE about busienss. this is an intro class. You cannot learn tax code in hs. can’t learn real sciences like going pre-med and such. college is an advancement, and it shouldnt be “necessary” for everyone to go. Im just thinking, honestly, the more education we can give and the more REASON to keep these kids in school, even for their own personal gain, is a good one. IMagine if more kids thought of themselves as Quincy Jones rather than Weezy. Or at least didnt have to higher someone to run their finances, or at least understood basic business terms on contracts etc…

If you say your going to war with terror, how do you win? It is not possible to kill every single terrorist.. so how far do you have to deplete their resources before you win?
Id say we won Iraqi Freedom.. Since we got Saddam and they are free now..

^I got you, but the school system, literally until the latter years of college don’t teach kids how to think, it teaches them how to do. And by that you learn how to do the things that are necessary for you to enhance the growth of a corporation. You don’t get into the classes that are really needed for your major, regardless to what major it is, until about second semester sophomore year. Prior to that, the general courses you’ve taken since kindergarten have all been to prepare you to be the best worker you can be, not necessarily the best thinker, entrepeneure, owner, mogul. Just the best, assistant, manager, etc. and the reason for that is, if you taught everyone how to be a leader, who’s gonna follow? If everyone thinks like a CEO, who’s actually gonna do the work…

Iraq wasn’t pretty, but it was most assuredly won by the US.
