so here’s my synopsis of the jay elec song…his bars were cool, on point(pause) that beat had my head knockin to it(pause) and puff’s adlibs didnt ruin the song. Not the greatest song in the world like some ppl gonna make it out to be but i fux wit this song. Does this nigga ever have hooks???

  38. White Says:

Why Diddy gotta ruin everything ?

  39. hl Says:

how many freestyles are we gonna see by the end of the day?

  41. Ghost Writer Says:

I got chills listening to this…(no homo)

  42. b-ease Says:

Does this nigga ever have hooks???

    ^^
I don’t believe so. So far, its not bothering me like it does with most rappers that can’t write choruses, but we’ll see.

  43. hl Says:

“Take that…and give this one to your girl…”

    “No disrespect…but ya’ll niggas need lotion man…ashey muthafuckas…”

    ^shots fired at Wale?

  44. criDikal Says:

“…yo take that, take that, give this one to your girl, take that…”

  45. Ghost Writer Says:

    oh4werd…it’s playing now thanks

  46. Windy City Villian Says:

That’s dope that Dame gave him Spitta his old passmedown Roc chain and let him film videos in front of the community BlacRoc Camero…i wonder does he let Spitta take dates out in it…blog rap life seems like the shit

  47. oh4werd Says:

@ b-ease – i didnt think so but i wanna hear the potential he has making choruses, honestly thats the only real problem i have wit his songs. Anyone can make a memorable verse if they put in the time and effort but the hook is what brings evrything together and makes a classic song imo.

  48. Dewill Says:

This kinda got me feelin good bout music again… I just wish he had one more verse and really got straight ignorant on the track… but it was still dope tho..A nigga aint been the same with music since all my cds got stolen.. but this kinda healed a wound in my heart..[||]

  49. Ghost Writer Says:

yo who made this beat…if I get this instrumental I’m going in

  50. Black Brokaw Says:

at some point he has to crossover right? He’s dancing with diddy = DIddy wants to make money. Maybe he snatched J.E. from blaze and put ACT II on hold, maybe got rid of the whole thing. I believe we will see J.E. dancing on boats and flowing on jet ski’s

  51. Ghost Writer Says:

this beat isn’t made for hooks…I can be wrong

  52. HipHopSince1989 Says:

    Quincy Tones made the beat

  53. vcsom Says:

what’s the production credit.. who produ’e?

  54. Windy City Villian Says:

lol Jay Electronica rocking with puffy is akin to a young Anakin Skywalker deciding to clique up with Darth Sidious in Star Wars to a certain part of the rap elitist contingent

He was supposed to be the chose one!!!

  55. abortatron Says:

    good shit.. fuck a hook

  56. bubba paris Says:

    good shit.. fuck a hook

    agreed.

  57. 5V Says:

word jay sayin “a bottle of ciroc’ll change the whole plane to soul train”

^^ that’s not that prophetic shit he seemed to be tryin to convey through his first batch of songs/video snippets

    song’s nice though

  58. herbsaac Says:

THis shit is aight.. I mean supposed to be a tribbute to BIG.. but since Puff is making it seem like he is sthe supposed orchestrator.. hes just pissed that he is slowly losing respect from the new rap fans because they dont relaly listen to pre-2001 music.. they are all into the skinny jean fo hawk having cudi sounding shit.. i mean even cudi knew his old shit was wack and changed up his style.. he dont sound the same anymore.. but also i mean ooo he can do a b ig impersonation.. nice? no.. Not at all.. everyone can do a biggie sound alike..

But the new rap game doesnt really have room for these types of tracks which is sad .. So peace out Jay Elect.. youlll be another MF doom/Mos Def.. Hot for a minute.. but too much blog support.. not enough real support.. who cares if someone makes waves on the internet.. Radio spins and TV is how you become an elite player in the game.. maybe not the most elite bars.. but if he dont get on TV soon.. or break thru in the mid west radio like Drake or other newbies to the game of rap has(basically play the game the mainly white radio stations in the mid west want you to) your gonna have a short lived career but itll seem long to the bloggers because they cant see past the internet.. which is also sad.. i wish rap would go back to 2003 when the blogs werent heavy in the game and music was still hard to find.. then it would jut be real fans and not all these people with a connection to the internet hopping on and annoiting all these kings who are never gonna get the crown(Charles Hamilton, Drake, Jay Elect, Reks, Pill, Bobby Ray(sad to say but its true unless he just disses the blog community(which he should do because his music is much bbetter now than his underground stuff) Jae Millz, Curren$y, Laws, Kron Don, Wiz Khalifa all these rap acts that are nothing more than just people who had an in.. and are forced down your throats on the blogs.. i mean real people arent seeing these people because they dont have”mass Appeal”)

Next big stars (because they have mass appeal and people see that they are into real crowds and not just blogging or gettin tpp heavy with the viral videos) = Vado and Freddie Gibbs.. The rest = internet blog hop superstars who will never make it out of the World Wide Web

This comment proves my point.. “Chosen One” By WHO?? BLOGGERS..?? GTFOH.. SMH.. LOL at the blog hop community trying to find the next big thing so they can say they liked all his earlier stuff like before he got big time(i.e. Bobby Ray, B.O.B.’s second album when all you fuck boy blog hoppers will be dissing him.. i mean its already started to be honest.. which is good that means he’ll be around for a hwile and get mad play in a thing called CD PLAYERS.. Blog hoppers needed the word CD PLAYERS in caps lock because they dont remember what those are)

Actually Nas habitually talks about him as the next one in line for greatness… although I must admit he’s slightly over-rated compared to the amount of stuff he has out there. Like I only know a handful of J.Elec songs…

This cat makes a major point with his music… He barely ever releases anything, but when he does its always dope music… The same can’t be said 95% of the artists in the game! Quality is a muthaphucka ain’t it!

  67. parodi Says:

    bout fuckin’ TIME.

  68. RLW Says:

I’d like to co-co-co-sign the 50 and Nas demands

  69. IlLogic Says:

Niggas is sayin 50 and Nas as if them niggas fuck with each other. Queens get the money had shots at 50 and Jay elec produced that shit, more than enough for 50 to not fuck with jay. I aint even mention the shaky history with puff.

  70. bogi Says:

puff on this track? its like oil and water..but still better than the shit on the most of these rappers put out

  72. regend Says:

@herbsaac internet blog hop community is all some rappers need. making it on commercial radio and TV licensing is just one aspect of it all but not necessarily the “best” way. it may appear that that’s what artists need to do because that’s been the formula of the major label game. that formula is crumbling. these internet sensations can have all this buzz on the net, find themselves a tour promoter in europe or asia, and cash in on the prize. the hip-hop game isn’t just in the states. it’s global and the internet helps spread that movement.
