No eminem album is on par with illmatic, ob4cln, reasonable doubt etc
———————————————-
The Marshall Mather LP is. Even the silly songs are important as part of the whole record, even if they aren’t that special on their own. And he was actually funny and entertaining then.
You clearly have a bias for “serious” music over fun stuff, so anyone adept at making fun music isn’t talented by your standards.
SMH, you even put Reasonable Doubt in the same list as your other examples.
if eminem wont have perfect album it’s because hes from dat era where perfect albums dont come on fruitation
eminem can make a perfect classic if he wanted
but business is business. and he maybe he satified wit his old albums before Encore. so it’s just a matter of subjectivity.. cuz Marshall Mathers LP is probably a classic

Eminem is definitely one of the Greats. Where he places though? Is a hard question. Although the only song I fucked with off Relapse was Beautiful, I think he can come with a classic album before he retires. ‘Drop the World’, ‘Forever’, ‘Airplanes II’ ..all these verses were fire and if his next album is off the same formula, I just might cop.
When Eminem is hungry.. you can feel that shit thru those bars, that energy.. that passion.. can’t be manufactured or fronted on, that shit is cooked CRACK

Yup. Too many people misread serious music for good music, and silly music for bad music. The kinds of guy that usually say TES was Em’s best are the kind of guys who denounce ALL of his joke/shock songs. That’s because when discussing hip hop in an intellectual manner, people fall into the trap of judging music on message too much, and not how the message [however weak] is conveyed. It’s a lazy way of critiquing hip hop, and popular art in general.
Thing is, no one hold these standards for TV or Movies, and they shouldn’t do it for music either. Em has written some entertaining joke/shock songs. They’re mostly on his first two major LP’s. Songs like ‘Kill You’ and ‘Never Knew’ are fun to listen to. It takes talent to make fun music, too.
All I’m saying is…when Eminem is bad it’s REAL BAD
^
haha yeah crazy how the guy can make songs like “way i am” and “stan” but at the same time come out with stuff like “ass like that”
I don’t know about that. Can you name a song in Em’s catalog that trumps EVERYTHING in Ye’s catalog?
^^^
I’d say the afformention “Stan” is arguably a greater single song than anything in Kanyes catalogue, there’d be some others too but I’d have to go back and listen because I havnt listen to ‘Ems shit in a while

Keyword being arguably. lol…That’s one of those songs that are great, but I never wanna hear again.
Plus the Marshal Mather LP had the best blance of serious and fun songs, and it was the point where he was at grips with his role in culture the most. He’s on point on all of those “I’m famous” bitchfests.
On the Eminem Show he get’s too big headed, and starts getting into the self-parody rut that a lot of great artists go through. And he upsets the balance- too many serious songs.
The Slim Shady LP is great, but he’s not at full grips with his fame [cause he wrote a lot of it before he hit big] and there are too many joke songs.
Kanye’s catalogue of music easily tops Eminem’s. It’s not even close in my book. Yeezy is way more consistent and seems much more serious about his song craft.
Marshall can rap, but a victim of some very, very bad songs. Marshall has no one to blame but himself for that.

Agree on this. That’s true for a lot of Em songs. The only time I listen to Stan is when I listen to the whole album.
That’s probably the one thing The Eminem Show has on the Marshall Mathers LP is that it has more songs you’d include on a playlist with other songs. Especially the best workout song ever made, “Till I Collapse”.
A) Because if you snitch, you are snitching on another Party. A Party who has absolutely every legal right to know who his Accuser is. Once he knows who his accuser is, and that He finds out it was T.I. …A Rap Celebrity.
His lawyers will leak the story to the media immediately.
B) There is no such thing as a silent snitch. There is a snitch who publicly snitches and then goes into the Snitch Protection Program. But everyone knows, if you snitch, you take the stand.
So if he snitched. Where is the other party???
Never mind. Y’all are just haters, who never liked T.I. and now have found a excuse to validate your hate.

Look, I’m glad you appreciate the post but I’m seriously not Boosie. I finally got to read one of his posts, when I look at the Nahright post when Obama won the election [curiosity]…he posts nothing like me. At all.
He writes very colloquially, quite the opposite of me. And he says the n-word. I’m not black and I’ve never said the n-word.
At least accuse me of being someone who has some similarity to me. Sheesh.
eminem’s flow, breath control, rhyme structures, etc. are matched by few, if any. he knows every trick in the rhyme book. imo he’s the goat emcee/rapper skillwise. which makes it all the more disappointing that he has yet to release a truly great album. i thought relapse had a chance to be a classic based on his personal turmoil and resulting sobriety, but alas we got more songs about homo-child molestation and shots at pop stars. even though these songs were done with the highest level of technical skill, the album as a whole was a tough pill to swallow
yo RNC Michael Steele… what can you tell me about Ryan Perriloux?

Nothing really, dude :/. Sorry, not a college football fan [just googled him now].
Not sure why you asked that… if it’s a refernce to the real Michael Steele, I admittedly don’t know much about the real guy, just picked this name since it’d be ironic if Steele actually brought the Republican Party to hip hop [lame, I know.]

I mean, I don’t wanna get in the way, but I won’t affirm he snitched unless I actually know that as a fact. And that is no “defense” or anything … If he snitched, that’s it. Period. But I can’t know that, so I won’t go on talking …
eminem’s technical skill, i would say, is unmatched. that just does not always translate into great songs, and definitely has not always resulted in great albums

You clearly have a bias for “serious” music over fun stuff, so anyone adept at making fun music isn’t talented by your standards.

His lawyers will leak the story to the media immediately.
B) There is no such thing as a silent snitch. There is a snitch who publicly snitches and then goes into the Snitch Protection Program. But everyone knows, if you snitch, you take the stand.

eminem’s flow, breath control, rhyme structures, etc. are matched by few, if any. he knows every trick in the rhyme book. imo he’s the goat emcee/rapper skillwise. which makes it all the more disappointing that he has yet to release a truly great album. i thought relapse had a chance to be a classic based on his personal turmoil and resulting sobriety, but alas we got more songs about homo-child molestation and shots at pop stars. even though these songs were done with the highest level of technical skill, the album as a whole was a tough pill to swallow

————————————————-
Nothing really, dude :/.

April 26th, 2010 at 9:12 pm
Eminem uses the worst beats of any major rap star ever…
his music sounds so non hip hop at times… like Nickelodeon rap …
just once i wanna hear that cracker do a mixtape over all Just Blaze and RZA and Premier and Pete Rock beats…
then we can judge wisely …
April 26th, 2010 at 9:12 pm
His concepts and ideas are corny. I’d say his technical skill is overrated.

I mean, I don’t wanna get in the way, but I won’t affirm he snitched unless I actually know that as a fact. And that is no “defense” or anything … If he snitched, that’s it. Period. But I can’t know that, so I won’t go on talking …
That’s just me.

And at that time Em was the illest, and 2001 was a modern day classic.

eminem’s technical skill, i would say, is unmatched. that just does not always translate into great songs, and definitely has not always resulted in great albums
^
basically..technically dude cannot be touched (n).
what makes him unbearable is the silly and often borderline gay shit (c) Chappelle
he raps about.
and dude got pedo vibes since he stopped getting high
April 26th, 2010 at 9:17 pm
em is [alright, above average] when he raps for real but i can’t fucks with most of his shiit.
