@ RNC– That would be cool. I like that he’s 4 albums in with 4 different sounds to each album, without jocking what’s popular at the time. (exception being sped up soul samples, which he helped bring back so a pass, and autotune, but he used autotune to express feeling alienated, not cuz “the shit sounds hot” *glares at Will.I.Am*)

Yeah it does, but only for the really traditional people, the people that remain in the villages. Those who live in the cities and have a western education don’t have that type of training.

No-sign. They managed to get B.O.B. a hit, which I never saw coming (even if Bruno Mars got gaffled), and made Trey Songz the most popular R&B artist in the country. IMO, they’re one of the few majors that are still efficient.

So stoked that DJ Toomp is gonna be on Good Ass Job.

    I’m not. Not at all.

^ Cosign GAJ don’t need Jeezy-type beats on it
    ————————————————

I imagine with Ye, he’s gonna have to cough up better than that. Can’t Tell Me Nothing wasn’t a Jeezy type beat. And dude produced a song on American Gangster, “Say Hello”- not a Jeezy type beat.

Not to mention on this record, with the long ass list of producers, Ye’s probably gonna be co-producing the songs with each of them, as well as his in-house guys and frequent collaborators [Jeff Bhaskr, No ID, Jon Brion] to really cook something big up. Kind of like Dre on 2001, assemple a big team of guy to work on beats.

And throwback albums are never as good as they are hoped to be anyway. This is a sign that Ye’s not doing one.

They still make great music that sounds more at home in the 90s. Great music does not equal music that sounds more current [don't bother with the timeless argument...].

Kanye’s got a reputation for moving foreword with something new on each record. Getting those guys to produce and just give him their best beats would still be a disappointment even if the music was good.
