Common Presents Just Wright Mixtape: Volume 1
Don’t get your hopes up, there’s no new Common on this mixtape. There actually isn’t anything Common on it. It’s just presented by Coporate Comm. Accompanied by this message he left on his blog:
Peace Ya’ll
This is straight up feel good music inspired by “Just Wright”. Enjoy!
Love,
Common
This tweet from earlier today reveals that he’s using the word mixtape in the 6th grader “I made you a mixtape” meaning of the word – not “the G.O.O.D. Music has arrived” kind of way.
Maybe it’s just me being impatient for The Believer, but some of us were expecting some new shit on this. It’s definitely a smart way to get the movie’s poster and release date on every urban hip hop blogs.

I don’t think they can stop themselves, cold. If it happens, you just gotta be professional, I guess. But I think that’s why so many people hook up after working on a movie together. But if Queen is gay forreal, then nobody’s got to worry about that.

I’m still downloading this, but I was hoping for some new Common…

Diop has some interesting and valuable ideas-including his thought that there’s really no such thing as race. I happen to agree with that, and I do think race is largely a social construct.
J. Henrik Clark is strong too.
I haven’t gotten into Van Sertima, although his work is interesting, I’m not sure about his conclusions. I can’t pass judgment on his work, I don’t have enough to go on.

Roffle- A rare but fun sexual favor in which one person sits on a waffle iron (on or off depending on preference) long enough to get waffle marks on their ass cheeks. After this anywhere from one to five guys beat off on the person’s “waffle ass”, making what looks like an ass waffle with jizz syrup. Hence, the roffle.
EX. Matt is happy because his girlfriend’s flabby ass is perfect for the roffle.

Common is one of my favorites ever, so I’m glad he reached a point in his career where he can get that hollywood money. But judging from the poster this is the type of movie I would never watch.

It really does though.

Big ups for the books. I’m in a predominantly white/asian university(UofT).
It’s really hard to find resources on this stuff.
Sad to say but most of what I know I learn from reading comments and googling afterwards

word…are you referring to ‘They Came Before Columbus’? If so I feel you, b/c the claim that ancient Nubians colonized the “New World” while caucasians were rummaging through caves is definitely hard to swallow [ll] when we’ve been taught that Afrikans are basically backwards and intellectually inferior by nature.
You have to unlearn alot of the history thats been whitewashed in order to really to get into Sertima’s work

like cOLD said, nothings wrong with that fam…especially considering NONE of this shit is taught in schools, and for good reason…If you’re the victor, why would you want the victim to be truly aware of any former glory and stature?
