on the religion thing? Nah. I mean, live and let live, to each his own. Not that I don’t care about your spiritual well being, because I do, deeply. But I also realize that it’s something every man has to go through for himself, you know? And I used to read philosophers who either tried to prove or disprove God’s existence, from Descartes to Aquinas and everyone in between. And I came to understand that no one will ever be able to prove God’s existence, because God requires faith, but faith doesn’t always require “proof,” if that makes sense, although you do get some confirmation as you go along.

It’s kind of like when you hear an incredibly dope album, and you’re talking to a friend that hasn’t heard it yet. And they’re like, naw, I don’t feel that kind of music off GP, I’m not trying to listen to it. But you know that if they would just hear it and give it a chance, it would rock their world and change their lives forever…change the way they saw music, make them happier in general, just make everything better from then on out. But if they don’t listen to it, it doesn’t make the album any less dope, it just means that you’ll be at a dope concert having a great time but just wishing your homie was there to see it, and feeling bad for him that he’s missing out on the experience.

  8. JDS just looks at her, looks at her... Says:

I’m much more in tune with Existentialism.

My position is, if God does exist [which I don't believe there is some supreme being] his existence is not my concern. Why sit and try to connect with something I don’t know and can’t fathom?

I prefer to make connections with the people who are right in front of me. I like getting to know people from different walks of life. Its just like, i don’t have to ask “What would Jesus do?” when i can walk up and ask “What would YOU do?”

  9. Fresh Huxtable Says:

if yall think great music is some destructive, self-hating, platinum toothed monkeys mostly rhyming about candy paint, grills and traps, to each his own …
    ^
land…c’bon shun…I know you don’t really believe that’s the totality of southern rap. No way you can put GooDiE MOB, Kast, Scarface in that category. And you can’t say Uncle Murder and MOP aren’t on that destructive stuff. I mean, if you don’t like southern accents, that’s one thing.
But to say that all southern rap is ignorant and self destructive is another and I know you know this, mannnn.

lol Probably one of the better rap names in a while.

Sun god is a bad name for a rapper

  13. landlord Says:

before yall continue to catch feelings, did niggas not see where i put MOSTLY in my comment?…

of course there are exceptions to everything… but the overwhelming majority of mainstream (and other) southern rap acts is coonery… same with the grassroots hiphop movements in the South on a street level… i see the shit EVERYDAY…

niggas aint building they destroying each other, their women, their families, and their culture…

Northern niggas do it too, but its ALWAYS been more prevalent in the south… and thats with ALL music genres… most of the people that have a problem with this are indeed southerners …

  14. Fresh Huxtable Says:

@JDS–I can’t knock your position-like I say, live and let live…my “dope album” analogy kind of sums up my feelings about it. Exisistentialism has a strong rational component when taken to the extreme, which it sort of has to be to work. I mean, who’s to say that I’m not dreaming this all, or that I’m not a brain in a vat imagining Nah because of some electromagnetic impulses? It’s possible, it’s just not what a believe.
