Audio: Fat Joe Talks The Darkside Producers & Features (Just Blaze, DJ Premier, Clipse, Cam’ron & more)

Fat Joe called up MTV to talk about his next album The Darkside, due June 28th via his newly-signed E1 deal.

I got my Just Blaze track today, so I’m excited. I got Primo, Just Blaze, Scram Jones, more Scoop Deville. Me and Cool & Dre did this monster with Trey Songz. I’m real happy with the album, man. I’m like one or two gems away from wrapping the deal. I’m just trying to dumb out. Buckwild gave me something ugly. I just want you to hear that album and be like, ‘All right, this is totally, no question, The Darkside.‘ I gotta deliver on my promise.”

He also gave more details on his track with The Clipse, which Joey teased a few seconds of in this vlog. The track is called “Kilo” and also features Cam’ron, produced by Infamous (“Mr. Carter”, “Hey Joe.”)

He plans to shoot a video within the next week for Slow Down (Ha Ha) now that Jeezy is done with the BP3 Tour.

but Yayo dont sound like a hillbilly …

dont get me wrong (again) … i like the OCCASIONAL ignorance, bombast & guntalk….

my preference is (again) i just dont like the sound of niggas rhyming words over beats with jim crow induced speech defects …

I would cop a Fat Joe Greatest Hits album. Dude has a great ear for beats and has good hooks, lyrics aren’t mindblowing (noooo) but are good respectable. No quarrel with Don Cartagena.

  7. Black Says:

Northern niggas do it too, but its ALWAYS been more prevalent in the south… and thats with ALL music genres… most of the people that have a problem with this are indeed southerners …

Look no further than lil jon and Plies. Those two represent a completely false image. I’m not even talking about some fake gangsta shit, thats always been in hip hop but to actually make yourself seem stupid when in reality your educated is very very scary.

it’s funny how hating 50 has made me like artists like Fat Joe and Rick Ross more. or maybe it’s because both are (currently) making better music than 50 and all he is now is a glorified Ja Rule with occasional bangers but we don’t believe his substance anymore. Fif fell off. I fux with Joe
