What people don’t understand is that we elected a new guy who is sincere and serious about change, but that 95% of the people who are in Washington are scared of it, even in Obama’s own party. Think about all the lobbyist and PAC money Obama is hurting for these politicians. Barack is effin their money up! But he should be, because these companies were exerting undue influence. If you go to opensecrets.org, they publish where all the donations money is going. Healthcare reform is crazily ambitious, and Clinton tried and fauiled. Dude is regularly meeting with Republican members of Congress. The problem isn’t with Barack, it’s with Americans who are so b****made that they expected everything to change in a year. I meant to also say, that other than Barack, it’s the same people in Washington as before. And as for Tavis, he didn’t go anywhere near as hard on Bush I, Bush Ii, or Clinton as he has on Barack, and it seems like it all stemmed from Obama turning down a town hall invitation from Tavis during the primaries. If that were to be the case, Tavis is petty. Old guard “black leaders” a) don’t like that he didn’t go through their
channels and b) don’t understand that he’s the president of America, not just black America. And IMHO, if he can keep focusing on jobs and health, that’s two of the main things that are causing problems for black people in America anyway. So Tavis and all the other people throwig shots after a year but who didn’t give
the man props for helping avert economic collapse, who haven’t even read the health care
bill, who didn’t know anybody else on the ballot besides Barack and their governor and mayor, who talk but don’t do anything to make their own neighborhood or city better, fall back.

The point about old guard black leaders was good, too. Also of note is that Obama is part of a new generation of black politicians who don’t have racially charged issues as a significant part of their core political aspirations. RJ, I can tell by how you write you’re much more intelligent than the average cat. So if you’re also driven, then I have no doubt that you’ve been in situations with school and work where you are either The First One, The Only One, or both. It happens with a lot of black and brown people. And one unspoken rule for the First Ones is to not eff it up for the Next Ones or you’ll always be The Only One. Barack could have laid lower, been slower, steadier, and put himself in a position to make fewer mistakes. So no one would’ve said he was great, but they wouldn’t have said he was wack either. But instead of doing that, he’s swinging for the fences. He’s done some things that show way less favoritism to Israel, for example, and reached out to the Muslim world. He’s going for health care reform. He’s tackling climate change. Even though he couldn’t stop the money machine, he at least made th effort to get wall street and carmakers to get their minds right. Not to mention he’s trying to get us all the way out of Iraq, which mugs seem to have forgotten about because of the economy. In other words, he’s actually trying to make some changes. If he accomplishes even 15% of what he’s trying to do, America will be better off after Obama than they were before him.
But the real deal is, Americans have to be willing to work in our neighborhoods and cities for the America we want. One visionary dude at the top can never be enough. So unless we step up and realize that we are the ones we’ve been waiting for, the potential of this moment will be wasted.

but for those who have clear wisdom and overstanding, there is clearly a greater dynamic at work regarding international and national leadership … the agendas and machinations of the dynamic i speak of is unknown to most of the voting and buying majority …
Barack Obama is a puppet of that known/unknown entity…
you can believe it, or leave it alone…
but past, current, and future history bears witness to this being factual in nature …
having blacks mislead other overzealous and blinded blacks, is one of the oldest political and socio-economic tricks this government has always played on its “guests” of african descent …
dont believe the hype …

They all took our shit and ran with it.
It’s time for NY to take this shit back and our vets can’t do it.
It has to be the new blood.
Juelz’s next album is gonna be important.
I ran into UnKasa in a bodega in Harlem. He said that Reagan Era mixtape should be out in two weeks.
I asked him about that “Flouride” line from Crime Pays too.
He said “Niggas take shots” lol.
Then he threw in something about his own mixtape dropping soon, but I was already walking out the store so I didn’t bother to pay him any attention.

he found a dam good ghostwriter thats 4 sure. And im not mad, he givin out crack music and thats a rarity right now
March 21st, 2010 at 5:31 pm
and for all this “who makes better music” or “who sells more” arguing… the artists dont control none of that… they just follow orders from their labels and management… the ones that follow and do EXACTLY what their told, and say/sing/rap exactly as theyve been told, they will get spins. promotions and sales… its really that simple …
how far are you willing to go to advance the hidden or not so hidden agendas of the labels and their distributors …

Maino’s debut was a great album that went wood, even with three singles that did better then average.
Niggas outta town ain’t buying albums from New York artists, so we need to stop catering the music for them.
Beemer Benz Or Bentley is some NY shit and that’s why it’s getting the response it’s gotten.
NY ain’t Atlanta or Miami. Niggas need to remember where they’re from.

This is true.
NY has to re-establish our brand of Hip-Hop. With everybody trying to appeal to these other regions, what made our artists and our sound unique has been lost.
This nigga Fat Joe don’t know which way to turn.
I mean really…

Southern cats can get by just evoking emotion in their music. And half the time the tracks do the heavy lifting.
NY cats have to do all that plus be technically impressive.

it wont happen cause it wont sell..
labels and distributors only sell, promote, and push hook driven trash with worldly and easy to digest or subliminal messages …
intricate and well developed wordplay is discarded and is rendered useless in the labels’ single minded desire to make money while sending out purposeful(for THEM) frequencies and messages …

What’s all this “our” talk??
NYC had first mover advantage and that’s the ONLY reason it was ever heavy in the game with artists. All the major players…all the A&R’s and all the labels were in NY.
Now that shyt has been disseminated, you’ll never see that kinda reign again.

Most of the new crop of Southern artists are on that shit.
The South got some dope MC’s, don’t get it twisted, but even they are caving in to the pressure from the labels to put out bullshit music that’ll sell ringtones and get radio spins.

The labels that matter are still in either LA or NYC. They’d just rather sign bullshit artists who have a radio single then put some work into developing something real.
How the fuck does Freddie Gibbs get dropped from Interscope?

NY dont even support good NY rappers. Everybody wanna be spoonfeed bullshit. Not just the south. Fuck it though. Thank goodness for the internet.

Niggaz crazy…lol So when Smooth The Hustler, Buckshot, Royal Flush and them niggaz running around everything was cool? People from the generation before wasn’t feeling “keeping it real” and niggaz thought the shit was dying back then. These nyc niggaz can rap five syllable words but they have NO presence. They are not personable and DO NOT have any sense of style. Nas was a star back then, Jay always been a cool nigga, Big was a star, Cam was a star…etc Where the stars now? These dudes is bums. Niggaz aren’t entertaining at all. Its unfortunate that Jim & Juelz aren’t the best of rappers because they had niggaz in a headlock for a while. Game changed…..emphasis is typically now on different shit but the lane is still there. These powers to be have been the haven’t exactly changed in agenda since the start of this shit…Execs been gay & crooked…so what?

This songs is straight crack. It creeps up on you.
The hook is reminiscent of a French Montana hook.
Should have had an R&B do the hook. But again. Just like French.
He does his own singing and rapping. ha. Banks need to do a song with French. It makes only perfect cents.
