With all these dope independent releases and resurgence of raw lyricism you have an ill artist like Eminem still locked in on a corporate level with Dre’s flailing Aftermath situation.
It’s like if your one of the rawest MCs ever step out the box and put out some dope music and switch it up. Why stay strapped to some corporate system that is only looking out for profit and gives a shit about the art.

Yea, it was a whole shitstorm. Rae (and to a lesser extent Ghost, I think) said the beats and sound of the album werent what the fans wanted from a WU lp, so he was gonna protest it with his own (which of course, never came out).

It would be dope to just hear Em on some raw mixtape level or paired up with Preemo or Statik and on more features… like on some bringing it back to some before he was signed shit… not this shit where every song is crafted with hook, immaculately mastered and paired with a bunch of pop singles, and not waiting for years for releases… look at Statik everything he is releasing is fire, the Reks tape, Termanology tape, MOP, 100 Proof… just putting out good music… it just feels like Em and anyone over there is sheltered cause of being paired with a major for so long…
