Guru Out of Surgery, Recovering

Good news and bad news. Guru’s surgery went well and he is recovering. Unfortunately, he’s not out of the woods yet. Let’s all keep our fingers crossed or pray or whatever it is we individually do when we’re hoping for the best.
I can’t overstate the importance of Gangstarr and Guru to me during my formative years. Over the span of about 5 years him and Preem, along with artists like Redman, Lord Finesse and ATCQ were the center of my rap universe. I can honestly say that this site wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for these cats.
Get well soon brother.

^^its an interesting argument.
But is it really better than, say, Hurt Me Soul, where the freakin hooks were more lyrical than a lot of other people’s albums and he was spitting that real? Is it better than international players anthem? Is it better than every song in Kanye’s catalog? Is it better than “Desire” off Pharoahe Monch’s album?
Maybe. But by the time you get to a certain level, it’s like Lambo vs Ferrari or Angelina vs Halle or the Hamptons vs Malibu. It’s impossible to say what’s best among artistic excellence is,
once you’re at the pinnacle, it’s all about preferences.

NEW YORK — Police say they are considering whether to charge Naomi Campbell after her driver says she slapped and punched him while he was driving her around New York City.
A law enforcement official says the 39-year-old model became enraged with the driver and started to hit him from the back seat on Tuesday afternoon.
The official says the driver stopped the car in midtown Manhattan and called 911. He says Campbell jumped out of the car and ran away.

Gangstarr definitely influenced me big time… I grew up in Germany where I met Guru and Premo many times with Gangstarr and Jazzmatazz and they always showed nothing but love… in 95 I actually came to NYC for the love of Hip Hop, struggled many years, but I am still here and I even mixed down a record at D&D while Guru and Premo along with MOP were there… Hip Hop is REAL and we need you, Keith… I believe the illest Gangstarr track of all times is yet to come… my heart dropped when I heard the bad news and I’m so glad like all of your fans worldwide that you’re expected to pull through… Love

I’m ah 42 year old school cat. I first got hip to Gangstarr from watching the Manifest video on Yo! MTV raps in 1989 while in the Marines out in Cali. I had ah partner from Long Island who had the “No More Mr. Nice Guy” cassette…yep cassette! I had that Big Daddy Kane bangin cassette “It’s a Big Daddy Thing”. We swap cassettes so we could doub them by puttin paper in the holes to doub. I had played it soo much I had to get the real cassette. That is how I got hooked on the illest group/dou in the real hip hop game. I judge MC’s by Guru standards, a battle rapper who made ill song behind Preemo’s beats. Top 10 MC of all times and the greatest DJ/Producer ever.

Im gonna have to shyt on you ppl hatin on jay elect….
first off…the entity you call Jay Elect is here in your illusions bcuz time is running out and its time for ppl to wake up and experience the truth by going within the physical vehicles you call the human body…. His energies are lot different you can tell in his aura and his material of information. If you know his older work he throws out information about opening up your energy centers(chakras/Including your 3rd eye) with meditation which is what you call spiritual work/energy ..check out his exhibit a video or Dear moleskin…..He is on a whole different level…Nas been trying to that since his early yrs. Back in the 96 era Nas mentioned ppl where not ready for that type of music. The Aquarius age is near (peace to the pisces era) or should i say the game(life) your roles are playing are ending soon which is why you see all these events happening. But remember that you all are masters of your illusions we are all one.. creating all these events. Everything is energy….but you cant see the energies because you are not vibrating at those levels(meaning your stuck in your 5 senses) or shall i say sleeping like a robot …watching tv movies, entertaintment, belief systems, etc..
but everyone’s entitled to their own opinion at the end of this shyt… :)
