=================
okay, so here’s the thing. Lupe’s a wonderfully talented rapper. actually saw him open up for Ghostface in Austin back in 06(?) when he was still trying to build a buzz for “Kick Push”. wasn’t half bad. and he’s done nothing but improve since then. but he lacks a certain intangeable quality that’s really necessary to put him over the top. and that quality (or lack thereof) is his inability to have an imposing presence on a song. he just doesn’t stand out on anything he does. he’s like the class nerd: talks a little too quietly, but when you really listen to what he’s saying, you realize how brilliant he actually is. the only problem is that you really have to listen. prior greats like BIG never even remotely had this problem. think about it, whether you were trying to listen or not, you always heard what Big had to say. and no matter who else was ever singing or rapping alongside Big, in reality it was always Big’s song. Luper, on the other hand, easily gets lost in the music. especially when the music is produced by a caliber of Kanye’s. add to that an annoying ass video and verses from a much more popular Mr. West, and it’s easy to understand how someone like Lupe can get lost in the stratoshpere. <– see what i did there?

I know this is late, but please. There’s much more to being a rapper than punchlines. Flow/Deliver is probably what matters most in the end anyway. You’d better sound good over the beat, that’s rule number one. Then go for nice lyrics and so on. If you sound like shit it doesn’t matter what your punchlines are. I still LISTEN to my music.
Hell, you mentioned Kanye West. He’s not a great punchline rapper. His deliver may not be special, but he always makes the right choices based on his ability and the beats he’s made, so his songs end up being good. Then he takes it to the next level with great song concepts [Gold Digger, Addiction, etc]. Slaughterhouse is gay.
BTW, I may as well also mention that Lupe’s not a punchline rapper.

In the late 90′s early 00′s that shit would’ve never happened off the simple fact that any nigga hopping on stage would have got they ass whipped before they even got within 5ft of an artist. Yes I called T.I. a snitch.
Theirs NO WAY a person who is on parole gets one year in prison (protective custody lock down) for trying to purchase semi-automatic weapons and military grade ammunition from an undercover DEA agent who infiltrated his crew, (NO WAY!) unless you snitch on somebody major.
The way it works is the person T.I. snitched on wont get locked up until maybe two or three years later so T.I. wont look like the snitch he his to keep him & his family safe. Mark my words the DEA or the FEDS will announce a big bust soon.
What’s funny is that T.I. is going to make an album that talks about how gangsta he is & prison, & you dummies are going to give him more of your money & believe his bullshit.
Real dudes know T.I. is snitch. I knew who was a fraud when he was on that episode of Punk’d. When Ashton Kutcher Punk’d him T.I. was ready to snitch then, LOL watch that shit.
FUCK T.I. & Fuck Lil’ Wayne he’s another fraud fake ass blood who’s going to be locked up in protective custody away from general population.
I ask myself why do you morons continue to support these types of suckers?
